Posting a little late...Wyatt Edward was born 6/16 @ 5:20am weighing a whooping 9lb 5.4oz 20.5in long....he is my fourth baby but first boy...he is also the only baby I actually went in labor for on my own! Started to feel "cramps" around 5:45pm mon (6/15) night...they were 20min apart until around 8:30pm when they became 10min apart....I still wasn't sure if it was real just bc I was always induced...around 9:30 I had a little bloody mucus discharge so I stadted to think okay maybe its real...called the ob they said to come in to get checked...contractions were stil 10min and I was only 2-3cm so they said I could come back when they were 5min...10min before I left they started to be 5min apart...I still left because I needed to get my husband and have my mom watch my girls....I got home around 1:10am (6/16) contractions still coming 5min apart...I waited until 230am then decided it was time to go....got checkedin and seen amd was already 6cm...went up to delivery around 3:30am....was about 7cm by 430 and ob brome my water...a little after 5am I was 9.5cm and wanting to push...they let me...wyatt was born just after 5 min of pushing at 5:20 am all natural unmedicated birth...he was my biggest baby and most painful to push out but I did it and couldn't be happier!
Morgan Loren. Born June 23rd (41 weeks) at 6:12a. 8 lbs even. 20 inches long. Latched on about 15 min after birth.
FTM. Breast stimulation june 19 and 20th for 30 minutes with breast pump. Cramps from about 2a to 8a then stopped on the 20th. cramps/contractions sun night 1030p to 4a mon. Went to L&D ED. Admitted Mon at 2pm. Epidural at 8p mon. Dialated from .5cm to 2.5cm with potocin. But only 3cm dialated by 4am Tue even with contractions every 3-4 min. Baby heart rate had neen dipping with every contraction since i checked in at 4am mon. C section performed. Diagnosis: Umbilical cord had thin areas. Contractions were putting too much stress on the cord in those areas.
Avery May was born on June 25th at 4:03 pm and weighed in at 7 lbs 10.9 oz via c section after a 38 hour induction failed to progress. We are so in love with her!
Daniel Nabeel was born 6/26 at 6:57am. Weighing 8.6lbs. My Contractions started at 10am the previous morning, just tightening and not very painful. I called my husband and family and headed home to get my two other kids ready for aunties house. The contractions began to get painful about 7pm that evening, my sister came & drove me over to the hospital bc my dh fell asleep! He was knocked out cold. Haha. At 11pm I checked in triage & was 4cm, 60% effaced, but had to be 5cm to be checked into the birthing suite. 2hrs later I was 6cm & 90%. I called my dh who headed over after his nap at 3am, which is also when the painful contractions really kicked in! I used to birth ball & nature sounds to try & breathe through the contractions, it helped some. I'm happy I stuck it out for a natural labor bc my recovery is much better than my epi. No rips or heavy bleeding. We are both recovering nicely. Daniel is a nursing champ! Pic is not uploading, will try later.
Giuseppe Julian Jamele born 6/27 3:17 pm, at 9lbs 5oz. He must have been sick of making me wait(today was 12 days over) bc one round of cervadil the previous day at 9pm set off contractions starting at 9am, pushing started at 12pm, he was here in 6 hours total! The natural labor would have been impossible without midwife and DH, they were awesom! Working on BF and my virginia hurts, but were all fab!
Miss Raegan Nicole made her appearance on June 17th at 2:27pm. Weighing in a 8 lbs 3oz and 21 inches long. Couldn't be any more head over heels in love.
Gemma Maggio - born on June 11th at 7:19 PM weighing 8 lbs 6 oz and 20.5 inches long. 40+2 weeks - 8 hours of labor and 35 minutes of pushing. Gemma is now 17 days old and perfectly healthy
Team green is officially a girl! Olivia Ann "Liv" was born at 12:12am 6/27/15 on her due date. 19.5inches, and 7-10lbs.
I thought I was just having Braxton hicks. Laying around, walking and timing contractions. I was texting my friend that they been more intense and like 4-6 minutes apart and her response was "dude...you're in labor". Called the midwives and went into the office at 4pm to get checked. As soon as I got there I started bleeding (had no idea that was normal). I was 4cm and decided to go home and eat and grab a few things. At 7pm we got to triage and I was joking around at 7cm. Told the Drs I wanted an epidural after 8c.m. By the time I got to my room and saw the doctor it was go time. I was almost 10cm as they popped my epidural in and thank god because I thought my whole bottom side was going to blow and I felt outta control. I felt so much better and was able to rest. I labored down for about an hour and a half and then pushed for 15-20. Felt nothing through my epidural and needed up with a 2nd degree tear.
We are working on breastfeeding and I'm really enjoying seeing how much she looks like my husband. Like he said "people are going to wonder if you had anything to do with making this kid".
Zoey Lee, born on June 17th, at 11:23 am, 12 days past her due date and on Mom and Dad's 9th Wedding Anniversary. She was exactly 8lbs 20in... after 34 hours labor(4 active pushing) she refused to decent at all and was delivered via C-section after I had developed a high fever from Chorioamnionitis! It was all very surreal, especially when they took her away from me for 2 days to NICU for IV antibiotics and observation. My labor and being without her sucked ass, but she was the best Anniversary gift ever!!!! So in love!!!
isabelle Quinn was born on 6/27 @ 8:53 pm weighing 7lbs 3 oz and 19.5 inches just one day shy of her due date.
After waking up with some intense contractions around 7am, DH and I got our things together and headed to the hospital around 9.i labored till 6 cm before receiving the most heavenly epidural around 1. Reached 10 cm and started pushing around 7:15 pm and had her about an hour and a half later. Pushing was seriously crazy but I was overjoyed when I saw her finally come out.
DH still can't believe we get to keep her and bring her home in the morning. Crazy being on the their side of pregnancy can't thank you all enough for the positive thoughts and well wishes!!
Hazel Julia was born on June 23 at 5:54 pm, two days before her due date. She was 8lbs, 8oz and 20.5 inches long. I experienced prodromal labor and went into L&D twice and got sent home both times because my contractions that we under 5 min apart for several hours stopped. After experiencing this pattern for 2.5 weeks, I got my membranes swept the Monday before she was born. I started having really spaced out contractions at about 3pm Monday and then at about 11pm they became stronger and closer. At 3:00am on Tuesday they were 2-3 minutes apart and over a minute long. We went back to L&D and I was at 4cm which is where I was at my membrane sweep appointment. Obviously I was upset and they sent us on a walk. I couldn't walk more than 45 min before the pain was so intense, I was throwing up. I bathed for the remainder of the time. When they checked me, I was finally at 6cm!! But because I was not mentally there from all the prodromal labor stuff, I was exhausted and could not tolerate the pain. So my pain management free labor went out the window and I got an epidural. I do not regret it at all! It was glorious! The epidural went in at about 7am and I progressed well over the next several hours but it kind of took a while to move from 9 to 10 cm. I was feeling a lot of pain and pressure at 9.75 cm but baby was still really high up. They broke my water and had me wait about an hour a half so she could come down further. After that, I pushed for 40 minutes and she was here! I had a second degree tear and a couple of tears on my labia but I've got my baby girl. Daddy and I are so in love and in awe of God's majesty! Praise the Lord!
Cash was born via Csection at 39w at 734am 7lbs12oz & 20.6" long..and absolutely perfect we are all totally smitten with this little guy! Especially his twin big sisters ❤️
Simon was born 6/27 at 11:59am. 8lbs, 7oz and 19 1/2 inches long. Went to the hospital at 5-1-1 on Thursday June 25 (41w) just before midnight, but I was still only 4 cm so was sent home after two hours without progress with a morphine and sleep-aid shot. Didn't let me sleep through the contractions, but they slowed to every 10-15 min, and I was able to get a little sleep in between. Contractions picked up again so that around 5 pm they were close to 3 minutes apart. As they increased in intensity, every fourth or fifth contraction was lasting 5-6 minutes, which made me immediately reconsider the possibility of going med free. When we got to the hospital at 7:30 pm I was at 6cm. I wanted IV narcotics to start, but they wouldn't give them to me since I was at 6. So epidural it was! That was amazing relief, 24 hours from the contractions first getting to 5 minutes apart. Got to 8cm in the next 4 hours, and then was still at 8-9cm six hours later. Had internal monitoring and tried using pitocin to increase the intensity, but it just increased frequency - the contractions weren't quite what they considered to be strong enough to fully dilate. 3 hours later (and getting really uncomfortable even with the epidural) I still had a lip on one side; an hour after that it was on the other side but still there. Baby's head was off-center. I managed just barely to make it through the next hour before deciding that I was simply at my breaking point. I had no way to know if I would ever get to 10, and even if I did, there was no way to know if the baby would be able to straighten out for birth. The doctor said I very well could push for hours and end up with a section anyway. Baby wasn't in distress this whole time, but there was thick meconium for the previous 4 hours so that was something to consider as well. So, with a lot of emotions, I went with the c section. Little boy was pushed so far down it was hard for them to get him out, and not only was his head super cone-shaped (already improved a lot!), he has some really obvious swelling on one side from being crooked. Little lopsided baby head! He was in the special care nursery for the first three and a half hours for assist and monitoring from the meconium but he didn't have any problems that needed anything after that. My recovery is going as well as I could expect, and breastfeeding is getting better with each attempt.
Tl;Dr: My birth experience was almost the exact opposite of what I'd expected, but I'm already (mostly!) over it. He's here and we're all healthy and happy!
Alexandre Bernardo was born June 28 at 40w3days. Induced Saturday, water broke Sunday 7am and was 9cm by 3pm. We were trying a vbca but his heart rate came dropping and he was all in my left side. An c-section took place and he was born at 6pm.sister is in love and I couldn't be any more bless .
Grace Ann Tuesday, June 30, 2015 3:33pm 7lb, 7oz; 20in long
Water broke (in TV sitcom fashion) at 1:30am so we went to the hospital. Went until 4-5cm, then got the epidural (holy smokes, amazing decision - back labor is zero fun). Pushed for two hours (with a third degree tear) before Grace joined us. We are so excited! I guess she wanted to be a June baby after all!
Leo Robert was born 6/28 at 8:24 PM after being induced Saturday at midnight. The contractions started with the pitocen, but for some reason completely stopped Saturday night. Started back up again when i woke up Sunday morning. I came in all ready 2 cm. By about 2 or 3, after the Dr broke my water, i was at about 5 cm and had to get an epidural. This was amazing as it allowed me tons of rest which came in handy for pushing. After that, it only took 4 hours for me to be at 10 cm. Labored down till 8 PM and started pushing. Took 24 minutes of pushing and only 8 good pushes and he was out! 9 pounds, 3.7 ounces and 21 inches long. Was not expecting such a huge babe! He has tons of thick black hair! Super calm and snuggly and learning to perfect the latch for BF. Overall, it was a great experience and a great reward in the end!!!
Our beautiful baby girl has arrived! She was born on 6/30 at 12:06 PM, 8 lbs 9 oz and 20 inches long via c-section. Mom and baby are doing fabulous. We are so in love and thank God for the amazing gift He has blessed us with!
After 12 hour of labor and 1.5 hrs pushing my beautiful Willa Lake Lindsel was born on june 25th at 9:54 pm! She is perfect and has such a great personality already i am so in love
Late post. But Roman Wayne was born on 6/24 he was 7lbs14oz & 19.5 inches long. My doctor decided to induce me after my nst test on the 23rd, which was a perfect nst test. I was 1.5 centimeter, they gave me cytotec at 9pm then another dose a couple hours or so after that, started me on pitocin at 4am, it took most of the day to get to 5cm, the nurses all thought I was crazy because of my high pain tolerance. They would ask me what's your pain on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the worse, the highest I said was a 3/4 lol The doctor btoke my water, then the nurses basically made me get an epidural saying that because of my high pain tolerance that when I actually will want some relief that it will be too late, plus I think they were irritated that I kept having to pee like every half hour, so I would constantly be unplugging the monitors lol 7pm came around & the doctor wanted to do a c section. Which made me go into a panic attack, I'm 100% against c sections, I did not want one, I was heart broken. I begged to have more time on the pitocin (they shut it off for an hour without even telling me) my nurse told me that she had been fighting the doctor all day cause he wanted to do a c section, he assumed I was gonna have a huge baby. I ended up dilating to almost a 7 a little before 9pm. A little before they took me to the OR I noticed that I could pretty much feel everything again, so I figured that my epidural medicine was out, I go to transfer to the operating table & the doctor was like holy shit, your epidural ripped/fell out of my back, I'm like great something else that went wrong -_- so they kicked my boyfriend out & did another epidural which I was terrified that it wouldn't work, I did not want to be put to sleep & have my boyfriend locked out for a couple hours. Thankfully it did work, my son was born at 10:38pm although I didn't get to see him be born and didn't get to see him until after he was cleaned up, weighed, & everything, and I wasn't the first one to hold him. Once they put me on the recovery bed I was able to have skin to skin and breastfeed for 30-40 minutes until they took him to the nursery for another half hour til I got to my room. I'm so in love, he's perfect, i would do it all over again, even though i wasn't able to go home til Saturday, I was on not even 10 hours of sleep in 5 days, in horrible pain, to the point where I couldn't control myself & started crying a couple times, & almost passed out a few times. We've been at home for almost 5 days, he's in my arms most of the time, I'm so addicted to him, he breastfeeds like a champ, he left the hospital 10 ounces lighter & he's already back up to his birth weight as of Tuesday, which his doctor was amazed since he's only breastfeeding, so I'm a happy momma ♡
Elena Gabrielle arrived at 5:20pm, screaming and crying just like her mama after a five hour unmediated labor(yeah, never again. Drugs please.) . She weighed in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces and 21 inches long and has a head full of baby fine mouse brown hair. Mama, daddy, and big brother are all wrapped tightly around that little finger already, and we're working hard at establishing breastfeeding and deciding if the newborn yawns or the newborn hiccups are the cutest.
Ace Riley, born 6.29.15, 7lbs. One week late and not a dollar short. Feeding like a champ. Thank you so much to all the regular mommas on this board...I wouldnt have made it without you. I went in educated and a prepared as a possibly could have been thanks to you. I know I went in deep silence but I've been checking on you guys and am so proud of all of us. =D>
Baby Layla was born this morning, July 3 at 10:40 am. I started having contractions on Tuesday and I thought that she would actually be born on her due date, the 30. But my contractions were too far apart For two days and lasted until about 1 am this morning when they got to 4 mins apart. I got an epidural and was able to nap for a while, then the doctor broke my water and gave me oxytocin to progress my contractions. Pushed for about 40 minutes, we're at the hospital til tomorrow morning (standard practice at my hospital). She is 19" long and 7lbs 3 oz. had a great first experience breast feeding, she went right to it. Thanks to everyone on this board for the laughs, advice and good conversation
Baby Patrick born 3 July @ 40w5d. Was induced due to low fluid and no growth for 2 weeks. Cervadil twice, Pitocin, foley (without epidural....brutal), after 48 hrs caved and asked for epidural, I was losing my mind. At 60 hrs stalled again so a c section it was. Admitted Tuesday 10am straight from scan appt, baby out on Friday.....long. Our treasure is here, we are full of love for him.
Amelia Leigh was born at 4:46 am on July 4th via cesarean. She was 6 pounds 9 ounces and 19.5 inches long. Mom and baby tried to have a vaginal birth but baby was not liking the pitocin. She is breastfeeding like a champ and is beautiful!
Amelia Lucy was born June 25th at 9:03pm. 9lbs and 20 3/4 inches. We were all surprised at how big she was!
EDD was June 15th so to ensure I delivered before getting too late the doctor scheduled me to go to the hospital 06/24 night to ripen the cervix, then have induction 06/25 morning. I started having contractions 06/25 around 2am and received an epidural around 6-7am. About 12 hours later I started pushing. After 2 hours of pushing the doctor determined baby wouldn't be able to fit coming out (she was sunny side up), so we ended up doing a C-section. A C-section was the one thing I was hoping to avoid, but at that point I was able to accept it and honestly in the moment was almost more disappointed that it meant I couldn't eat for even longer. Baby held up great throughout labor and delivery and no complications from my end either. During C-section though my uterus was torn a bit as they were trying to get her out.
She's amazing and my husband and I are both absolutely in love. :x
Olisemedua William was born, June 29th at 8:32am via C Section. He came at 41 weeks, weighing 8lbs 10oz and 21" long. Water broke at 2am June 28th and was in the hospital by 7:30am but was only at 1cm. Stayed on but after 24hrs (even with the pitocin), could only make it to 4cm. Developed an infection and had to be given antibiotics. The birth didn't go as I imagined, but God blessed me with a beautiful healthy boy. Recovery is tough but we are doing well.
Baby boy chase wesson smith was born on 6/21/15 at 39w4d. I was in what they called pre-labor for two days with no progress of cervix I was 1cm and soft that was it. I was set for induction on 6/21 so they told me to wait it out til that date so I did. When I got to the hospital after making no progress 2 days in a row I was a 3-4cm and 100% effaced went ahead and got my epidural, less 30 mins later I was a 7. When she checked my cervix my water broke and let's just say I flooded the room it was EVERYWHERE, but because of the big gush of fluid I had a prolapse cord and had to get rushed into an emergency csection. My husband was saying by the time he got on a suit for operation they already had the baby out. Chase was born at 1038pm on father's day. But unfortunately I didn't get to room with him since he got put in the nicu. He had to undergo a major surgery to connect his esophagus and stomach.and still hasn't gotten to come home. But they are working on his feedings and trying to him all ready to come home.
Side story my mother almost got arrested for trying to get back in the operating room... crazy family!!!
Blake Alan was born on the 4th of July! 8lbs 5oz 21.5in long. We went in on Friday at 630pm to get induced. I had 2 doses of misoprostol, then we did the foley. It fell out after only an hour. We broke my water and got an epidural started shortly after. I was feeling good so we began pitocin. All of a sudden my epidural was only working on half of my body. I was in so much pain! I was nauseous and felt like I was going to pass out. I stayed at 7cm for 6 hours before we decided to do a csection. I don't think I could've lasted for much longer. Blake showed up at 10:56pm and we are soooo in love with him. I've never been so happy in my whole life!
Everly BreMarie was born on June 24 at 3:16 a.m. She weighed 8.1 lbs and was 21 inches. I was 41 weeks pregnant at the time. I had been laboring for nearly 72 hours before it was time to push. The plan was to deliver naturally at a birth center but after 10 hours of pushing, I was transferred to a hospital to get an epidural, followed by four more hours of pushing. She was born healthy and strong! Baby girl is doing wonderfully and I'm in momma heaven!
Myah MaKenna was born July 1 at 40 weeks and 4 days and just shy of 48hrs after my membrane sweep. She weighed in at 7lbs and 13oz and was 20 long. Woke up at 1:30 am to my water breaking, called MD and was told I could head to l&d if l wanted so we could start my antibiotics since I was gbs + so we did. When we arrived my contractions were coming at regular intervals but by the time everything got hooked up they started to get further apart. So after a few hours decided that pitocin would be started. Contractions started coming pretty strong after a few hours. Then requested my epidural to only find out that it would be a good hour before I could get it since the anesthesiologist and my Dr had just went in to do a cesarean. Finally got it and felt somewhat better. After 14 hours of labor I could start to move my legs and feet and knew it must be wearing off or not working completely. The nurse had just checked me about 20 minutes before to only tell me I had dilated to 2 and 1/2 cm. I all of a sudden felt an extreme urge to push and told the nurse she needed to check me again. She did and was in disbelief and ran literally out of the room to get the Dr because my baby was already almost there. I started pushing and in less than 30 minutes my baby girl was here. Felt almost the whole birth which was insane as well as the almost 20 stitches I got from tearing and a 2nd degree episiotomy. All was worth it and I'm still in disbelief that she is all mine and in my arms now!
Logan Haruka was born 06/02/15 at 11:34 am at 39 weeks and 1 day. He was 7 lbs 14oz and 20 inches long. His due date was 06/08 (his father's birthday).
Having going completely natural and getting to 5cm my OB broke my water and an hour and a half later we ended up having a prolapsed umbilical cord (cord came 1st into birth canal and his head compressed cord dropping his heart rate from 130s to 70s) and I was rushed for an extreme emergency C-section where I had to be put under to get him out FAST (10 mins from start to baby). Thank goodness I was at the hospital and had amazing RNs and a OB that acted extremely fast and as a team. They saved my son's life and we are both healthy.
His Big sister loves him and we are so happy to be adjusting to a family of 4.
