High chair readiness

My LO recently started being able to sit up by propping himself up with his arms. I know he's not ready for a high chair yet but do you have any tips for a FTM on what to look for?

The high chair we are eyeing does not recline and we don't own a floor seat nor intend to buy one.

    You kind of just have to try it out and see. I kept putting my daughter in the high chair we had until I could tell she was big enough and strong enough for it to actually serve a purpose. Then I just had her play with toys in it while I was in the kitchen and eventually she started eating in it. Same with my first child. Our high chair reclines but I don't ever recline the kids while sitting in it.

    We have the space saver chairs that do recline and have been using them since the babies were a week old.  Recently we began using them in the full upright position so they can sit at the table and watch us eating meals or me cooking.  My babies don't sit up at all on their own yet.
