So Im going to see my OB tomorrow morning about what I "think" is round ligament pain. But id like to know who of you have experienced it and what did it feel like?
I'm not sure which pain is which anymore. I've had everything from crampy-stretchy pain, kind of like a pulled muscle to sharp lightning stabs in both my cookie and my belly button. It kind of runs the gamut. Some of its ligament, some of it's probably muscle. Not sure which is which but it's all normal. Isn't pregnancy fun!
My OB said that RLP is a stabbing pain towards the sides of your abdomen. She also said that there's a lot of stretching going on in there so back pain and cramps are very common too. Hope that helps.
Thanks ladies! I feel Ive had so many weirdish growing pains too that I wanted to hear from the community about some real life stories and not just general information online. Ive had shooting pain down the back of my right leg which went away with a chiro appt. But my pelvis and abdomen hurt sooo much Im walking like a hunchback. crazytimes!
That shooting stuff is sciatica. Thankfully, I've not been blessed with it so far this pregnancy. Last time I could barely get out of a chair. Growing tiny humans does insane things to your body. Not just the aches and pains, it's the skin changes and the smells and weirdness. And then the kicking starts, and it feels like a scene out of alien. Totally worth it though.
I came to the boards just to ask about this specifically and I see this post. Perfect! I just want to make sure what I'm feeling is "normal" I'm pretty sure it is, it's just nice to have some reassurance. I've had cramping pretty much all day, similar to menstrual cramps and mostly just on my right side. And just now I choked on a piece of ice *takes a bow* and coughed for like a minute or two. Every cough was a stabbing pain in different parts of my lower tummy, once even in my vagina, yikes, TMI I know. So just wanted some insight from someone who has gone through this or knows a little about it. Thanks ladies
Perfect way to describe mine is a feeling like a stitch. Not crampy - stabby. I get most of mine on my left side. I get worried then try to remind myself how much everything is changing down there. Things growing, stretching, organs moving!!
I get RLP mostly when I stand up after sitting for a long time (I have a desk job). When I get up, I have a long stretching pain in the front/side of my stomach...not really my sides but not directly in the middle of my stomach either.
For RLP, it has felt like a painful muscle pull on other side of my lower belly near my hips. At 18 weeks 3 days, I haven't had RLP in a couple of days. Now I can feel my ab muscle stretching as if I had done a heavy ab workout. TMI alert: sometimes my belly is really tight and hurts when I have gas. Being pregnant is awesome, but it does have some uncomfortable moments.
