Name suggestions!

Hi I know a lot of people are probably sick of seeing posts about baby names but it's a big deal! We have 3 girls names and 1 boy name picked out. we don't know gender yet but I'm just so excited! The names we've chosen are Layla Rae, Harper Lee, or Henley Rae. Our boy name is Lincoln Alan. We can't agree on any other boy names. Our last name is Hayes. Likes? Dislikes?

Also anyone else who wants opinions on their names feel free to post :)

Re: Name suggestions!

  • I personally prefer the name Liala (lie-la) because I think it's more beautiful in Hebrew than Arabic. But that's just my two cents… Apparently Eric Clapton doesn't agree with me.

I am a big fan of Rae, it's my middle name and we will most likely be using it if we have a girl.
Are you a big fan of To Kill a Mockingbird? Because the author is Harper Lee so be prepared for that connection.
  • I like Harper Lee but only because I love To Kill a Mockingbird.

  • Not a big fan of Henley, reminds me of the shirt style... Layla is pretty, Harper is nice, but not my style. Lincoln was on my DH's boy name list (we're not using it). Other boy names:
    Caleb
    Gavin
    Asher
    Leo
    Wesley

Haha I am not and I've realized that but in my family we typically use family names as middles names and I couldn't find one that I like better than Lee to go with Harper lol

I do like Liala a lot! I think we would spell it Lila if we went with it but husband likes Layla better... I guess he gets an opinion :)

  • Leila is another spelling option...

As he should! I also like Lila... The only thing that I would urge you guys to consider is the current state of the world and the political forces at play. I personally don't think that there is any problem with an Arabic name, but depending upon where you live, it might be a consideration. If it is or it's not, Layla is absolutely beautiful either way.

I don't have a problem with it. I just don't think I've ever seen it spelled that way. Another reason I made the post. I want people's feedback that aren't my family and friends pretending to like the names lol
  • Very fair!
  • I love Harper and Henley!! You could always use the Leigh spelling of lee to minimize the to kill a mockingbird connection.
  • With Harper and Henley you have double H sounds with your last name. Harper has become pretty trendy, even though it's adorable. I think Layla or Lila win in my book.
  • I really like your boy name. Girls are not really my style. i no 4 laylas who have been born this year alone, the name has been completly over done it is nice though. I like pp ideas of putting a different spin on it lila is lovely.Harper is ok, it is a pretty trendy name so not sure how it would age.And henley is a very budget designer make in the uk so i just cant do that one.
