Baby Bjorn One Limited-Edition: Ice Cream Collection!

Happy Monday, ladies!

I spent some time yesterday trying to narrow down my wish-list (a process made 1,000x easier by the Baby Bargains book - seriously, go get it immediately it's on Amazon on sale for $9.81 right now and it will change your life and your baby-stuff selection process okay great glad we had this chat), and after spending years nannying I knew I wanted to get a Baby Bjorn One carrier.

A little research led me to find out they released a limited-edition Ice Cream Collection, with a few fun colors. They only carry them on Kohl's website. If you have Ebates, you get 6% cash back for shopping there, and you get $30 Kohl's Bucks in your email after you purchase. Just wanted to let everyone know - I bought the Pear color! It's cheaper than the regular version for some reason, so after Ebates and the Kohl's Bucks I only paid $110 for it.

  • Very cute!

  • Agreed these are super cute!
  • A word of warning, you are going to have a hard time recouping most of your money back when you try to sell this. It's not comfortable for very long, and it doesn't hold resale value like a Tula or KP does. I took a major loss on mine.
  • @leighpa I'm a FTM and planning on having at least two; I'm not worried about trying to sell any of my stuff. I have a huge family, so if anyone wants to use it when I'm done, they can go ahead - otherwise I'll donate it somewhere. I've always found the Bjorn to be comfortable, although I'm sure it's not for everyone!

Yes. If you donate it and you have kept your receipt, your accountant should be able to give you the amount that you can deduct off of your taxes. Enjoy your carrier!

Was that on the Baby Bjorn Original or on the One? The One has only been out a year or so and it's a HUGE improvement over the previous Baby Bjorn models. It has much better back support (a waist band rather than hanging on your shoulders) and it has a larger, adjustable seat for Baby. IMHO it's as comfortable as the Ergo 360 but easier to use since the buckles are in the front.

I've been thinking of getting one to replace my Ergo Sport and I LOVE the look of the ice cream collection - hadn't seen that before! You snagged a great deal, I may have to grab one also. :-D
  • I LOVE those colors! I pulled it up to show DH how pretty they are, and he said "remember that I have to wear it too".... So I'm guessing that was a no on pink one, and probably the goregeous minty blue-green one too :-/

  • @breezypip I am looking at carriers based on how much my husband will like them, since I am hoping he will carry baby a lot! I figure that when the baby is teeny I will be recovering and by the time I start feeling back to normal that baby will be starting to get big (we will have big kids we are both tall--I had 3 thigh rolls at 6 months...so I think that our kid will be HEAVY, my niece and nephew are 90th percentile for height at 3yo and 5 months, respectively!)
  • @TomekiaB now I'm looking at it that way too! I need to remember what might be cute to me to wear might be embarrassing for him to wear. Now if only we could splurge and each have our own... :-)

Yes I'm referring to the BB One, I got one for review purposes in 2013. I'm very glad BB finally stepped up and made an ergonomic carrier, and I like how it zippered down for tiny babies. It's also incredibly well-made. But my daughter was a little chunker, and it was only comfortable for a little while. Definitely not worth the $200 price tag it had in the beginning, and not as comfortable as Lenny Lamb, Kinderpack, Tula, or even the Ergo. It's definitely worth it if you're going to use it for a lot of smaller babies, but not long term for one. But you got a good deal on it!
