Headache Relief

Hey ladies! So, I'm at 10w 2days and have had a headache (probably hormone related) since last night. Tylenol hasn't done anything much to help. Anyone have any natural remedies they have found worked well?

Re: Headache Relief

  • I have been having constant headaches and using a cold compress has helped. I also am going to be adding a magnesium supplement to my vitamin routine, but that's more for chronic headaches, it doesn't really work instantly. Hope the compress helps!

its not the best for you, but tylenol and coke help me when i get a bad one.
  • My midwife told me today that my headaches could be partially be caused by dehydration and that more water is needed during pregnancy than normally.
  • Yeah, I thought it was dehyradtion related last night, but with the amount of water I've had today, I don't think that's the case. I will try a cold compress for sure!
  • Drink a ton of water, take a hot (okay, warm) bath with a cold rag and take two Tylenol. Speaking from experience last night when I had the migraine from hell
  • I've had quite a few migraines so far. Tylenol and cold compresses definitely help. My Dr also told me I could take excedrin migraine for relief. She said it was a class b drug for pregnancies but I would talk to your dr or midwife first
  • I've been using a heating pad on the back of my neck with a cold compress on my forehead. Helps with intercranial (sp?) pressure.

  • I have been having headaches as well. I think mine are due to dehydration. I just can't seem to drink my water these days. I'm usually really good, but lately I just have no feelings toward drinking. And when I do get thirsty I don't want water.

  • I'm prone to headaches so I consulted my Dr and Naturopath. Dr said definitely no Tylenol and Naturopath recommend cold press and to get a peppermint stick to rub on your temples.
  • I place a heating pad on my forehead that has always helped me, i have really bad allergies and get sinus headaches and regular headache medicine usually doesnt work
  • I have just been chugging water and using a heating pad on my neck and the base of my head. I feel like that offers more relief than the Tylenol does.

Iv been getting severe headaches for 4 days. I went to Doctor yesterday who recommended acupuncture which has worked tremendously. She also recommended frozen peas wrapped in a tea towel on my head where the pain is instead of heat which is what I have been using and it has worked :)
  • Mentioned the headaches at the doctors yesterday. She said a lot of the same stuff here then turned to DH and said "foot rubs can do a lot of good too." I mean the doctor said it, not me! :D
  • Caffeine has helped me the most.
