Heya fillyb - I'm in the same position. I had my scan yesterday! I know that they look for the cord placement, placenta location and how bub is situated in the uterus. My bubba had one foot down along with her bottom. They couldn't locate the other one
I know if you are considering a natural delivery of your bubba in breech it's important that their chin is down against their chest and not stretched up high.
I feel really uncomfortable about an ECV. They don't always work, babies can flip back around and it can cause some major complications which result in an emergency C-Section.
I'm so bummed that bubba didn't flip. I wanted as natural as I could get birth wise. It's a shame my bubba had to settle into the worst position for a breech birth
I don't know. Trust your gut. You'll know what is right for you and your baby. Bub could always flip at the last moment as well.
Oooooooh!!! one tip my midwives told me - if your waters break early get down on your hands and knees and elevate your backside so it's higher than the rest of you and call an ambulance. It stops bubs cord prolapsing/coming out before baby and causing problems.

My midwife suggested the "breech tilt" 1-3 times a day and swimming to try to encourage the baby to change positions. I'm due on the 31st and up until last week he had been head down!!! Now I'm doing these exercises and hoping for good news when I go in on Friday. Good luck!
I did all of the exercises available on the Internet. I swam two times a day and did a handstands whole time I was in the pool. Due to my work schedule seeing a chiropractor or an acupuncturist wasn't an option. I had an ECV done today at noon and it was successful. I have to be honest, between the immense pressure, how hard they have to dig their fingers in, and how weird it feels when the baby actually moves, it was a very intense experience. It was painful, manageable but painful. I would do it again in a heartbeat if it meant I got the same result. They bound my stomach afterwords to prevent him from flipping back. Of course there are no guarantees and he could choose to flip again in the next few days, but the likelihood of that happening is low since it took so much effort to flip him head down. I am happy I made the decision to do the ECV. I think it is a great LAST option to avoid a c-section.

I did all these things which didn't really work but my baby flipped at 38 weeks! Don't lose hope!
