Killer Headache!!

Anyone else having crazy headaches? It's at the point where I can't work because my head hurts so bad so I'm just sitting here. Usually, I would drink caffeine and that would help but I'm really trying to cut back and I really don't want to take any medications. Any other remidies out there? I know I just ruled like everything out

I wish I had an answer for you :( I am experiencing the exact same thing, it is to the point now where it feels like a daily occurrence! I plan on checking with my doctor about it at my next visit since headaches can be a sign of preeclampsia and that has run in my family. I had headaches with my first pregnancy but this second one has been so much worse!

I hope you find some relief soon!

  • I suffer from migraines and can't take my regular meds. I tried the whole Tylenol and plenty of water thing but 2 weeks ago I just couldn't do it anymore. OB prescribed Fioricet which is basically some souped up Tylenol with caffeine and butalbital which is a barbiturate. Freaked me out until I did some research and found out it's very common to prescribe this for headaches during pregnancy. Even have a friend who works at another OB office and she said this is all they prescribe there. Doc modified from the standard dose (no more than 2 in 24 hrs, no more than 2 consecutive days). I've only had to take the meds on 2 occasions, one pill each time, with pretty much instant relief. Maybe give your doc a call and see what they say.

  • I was just sitting here thinking "Man my head is killing me!!" I just want to go to bed and maybe it will feel better. I have had this same headache since lunch today. I took Tylenol but no improvement yet. I blame it all on being pregnant. Increased blood volume to support baby is affecting all the teeny tiny super sensative capillaries in our brains. Don't think that my stressful day at work helped any either.
  • Yes!!! Started last week at 18 weeks. Miserable
  • Talk to your Dr. about what you can do to safely get rid of your headache or at least alleviate them.  I'm 14 weeks, 3 days.  I take 1 extra strength rapid release Tylenol gelcap right when I am starting to feel the headache, drink lots of water, and maybe try and lay down for about 20-30 minutes at work (or in your car).  It's safe to take Tylenol, but of course talk to your Dr. first before taking anything.  Hope you get some relief soon!
  • There's another thread going about this... i'm having them too. It's miserable!
