Numb fingers and toes....

hey ladies :) so I have a doctors appt already set up and will ask then, but has anyone else experienced numbness of your fingers and toes? I have woke up every morning the last 4 days and can't feel my hands, but the strange thing is,is they arnt swollen, so don't think it's edema. Very strange, it happens throughout the day as well sometimes but if I get up and walk around a bit it eases off. Anyone else experiencing this? Btw I'm 37weeks :)

Re: Numb fingers and toes....

  • My doctor said it's just stress baby is putting on certain nerves. I had it a couple of weeks ago, and like you said, I find it goes away once I start moving around. But, it doesn't hurt to bring it up at your next appointment!

  • My fingers are numb 24/7...worst feeling ever! Thank God my toes aren't numb too!
  • It may not seem like you're swollen but it's the swelling in the tissues of your limbs causing pressure on nerve pathways. I have it too and didn't experience this my first pregnancy so it's been an unpleasant surprise. It just makes for one more obstacle to getting descent sleep :( We're almost there though. I'm being induced on my due date 7/7.
  • I have it too and it's just pregnancy induced carpal tunnel or how baby is hitting nerves.. My midwife suggested physical therapy so hopefully that helps. Its an awful feeling. My poor fingers are so swollen.
  • I've had this for about 3 weeks now but over the weekend, it has gotten worse. My grip sucks and I drop almost everything I pick up. Not much to do other than braces
  • It does suck. For a while it was just my right hands and some days my left will join in for good measure. Oh and my 4th tarsal on my left foot! Why only one toe and only in the morning? Pain in the arse.
  • I have this problem too...Its been happening since about 20/21 weeks and it makes things really uncomfortable. My OB says its normal too.

  • My fingers would go numb and feel as if there were asleep as well in my left hand. My right hand developed a trigger finger, which would be locked in position and hard to move in the morning and would continue to be sore throughout the day. The feeling will go away after having the baby.
