GD and induction at 40 weeks

I have gestational diabetes and my Dr said she'd like to induce me on my due date next week. My numbers are regulated from diet and exercise so the baby's weight is not an issue or anything. We spoke about early inductions leading to c- sections and that's what I'm most concerned about and want to avoid. Ultimately I told her I'll do whatever she thinks is best obviously.
Any moms have a similar scenario with being induced on your due date (or 40 weeks) and if so delivering vaginally vs ending in a c-section?

    I have GD, my midwives said we will be inducing between 39 and 40 weeks. I'm 38 +2 today...
