The other day I had a nurse practitioner tell me that pregnant women should be taking prenatal vitamins with Folate rather than Folic Acid. That it actually can reduce the number of miscarriages, especially if the mom has the MTHFR mutation. I've never been tested for that mutation but I've had a few friends with it who had very hard pregnancies and had resulting premies so it caught my attention. Anyone else heard of this? I ordered Folate prenatal vitamins right after I heard that. (And not trying to scare anyone, but anyone who is researching like crazy right now, just something else to add to the pile)
