Subchorionic hemmorage?

Any moms STILL dealing with this? I was in triage again today. Bleeding heavily. But baby looks great and the hemmorage is shrinking. Am I alone in still dealing with this? Bean was curled up but we got a few cute shots.

Re: Subchorionic hemmorage?

  • I've been dealing with one since 11w, I'm 16w2d now. They are a royal pain, my bleeding has changed to spotting (brown) and has been that way for 3 weeks now, but I'm still very frustrating as I've have been told to "take it easy" until the spotting has stopped 100%. I had a u/s yesterday and the SCH is still there but has shrunk a lot so my Peri thinks a few more weeks and it should be gone. As long as the SCH is shrinking and your doctors aren't to concerned, I wouldn't worry to much. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done for them, it's a waiting game. Best wishes to you :)

  • I had a huge first bleed at 15w4d. Bled one day then stopped. U/s several days later showed a large (10cm) hematoma. Approx 2 weeks later I started spotting brown/black/rust blood, now it's starting to trail off at 18w4d.
I see an MFM for a short cervix issue so my hematoma is also monitored on a weekly basis (I don't know if that's a good or bad thing). It is still the same size however is showing signs of reabsorbtion into my body.
All I can say is hang in there and don't Google! Take it easy (esp when bleeding): lay down when you can, no sex, no lifting, etc.
Is the new bleeding from the same hematoma or is there another one that has formed??
  • They said it's the same one... I went almost three weeks with no bleeding! So frustrating... Thankfully the baby looks great! Praying for you ladies.. This is unnerving...
  • @jmomof4 Aw hang in there! At least it's not a new hematoma. They can definitely bleed again, it's not uncommon! And sometimes they just bleed out vs reabsorb.
I know this may sound ridiculous but every night before bed I literally think about my hematoma disappearing - I envision my body just absorbing it! Can't tell you if it actually works, but definitely helps to calm my nerves!
Praying for you and your LO. And just remember, in most cases these situations turn out to be absolutely fine!!
  • Yes! Still dealing with it at almost 4 months! So frustrating and scary. Thank you for posting about this
  • First saw mine in the u/s at 8w. Massive bleeding at 11w. Brown spotting at 15w. So far baby hasn't cared about it but I agree any bloody discharge is unnerving. You are not alone!
