I hate when people say this and know it's coming again when I go back to work soon. What are your favorite responses to this? The more smart assed the better!
"Oh it was so relaxing!! Especially when I got to sit around and ice my lady parts which were super swollen and sore after pushing out a human."
"I just loved waking up every 2 hours to feed and take care of a crying baby. My idea of a good time is trying to function while I'm extremely sleep deprived!"
"Recovering from a major medical event and being the number one care giver for tiny baby at the same time is so relaxing!! I totally recommend you do it when you take your next vacation!"
I'm the complete opposite! I think this IS a vacation! My husband and I are baffled by everyone saying "don't worry, it'll get easier." We're loving every second of this.
I can't wait to go back to work so I can take my lunch break and eat with BOTH hands. (Of course, I don't look forward to leaving the baby elsewhere...!)
I totally agree- waking up at 3am to feed baby (while it is precious to have this sacred time with her and I do cherish it) and having to get creative in order to use the bathroom, shower and feed myself is not a vacation. I wish all the people who hate on maternity leave could feel what it's like (both the good and challenging) for just one day. Also- to have to use vacation and sick time on maternity leave is not fair IMO. We should get a year off paid with a new baby, also IMO. Hoping this happens for my DD when and if she has a baby herself someday.
I'm a hair stylist and a client of mine called the salon I work at a week or two after I had my son and asked if I was back to work. When my coworker said no he got very upset stating that "I already had the baby & what was I taking off a whole month?!" You sir are a douch & no I'm not taking a month off I'm taking 12 weeks .... People are so stupid. I go back the end of July and I'm sure I will hear some good ones from clients especially the guys.

@mnmarcy I'm not particularly religious, but AMEN to that!
