GTKY: What makes you feel beautiful?

Hey Mamas!
This was going to be a post to see it anyone had any good hand lotion recommendations because my fingers look like lizards. But I'd love to hear what you're doing, wearing, or using that is making you feel great during this endeavour.
Also any lotion recommendations would be appreciated ;)

Mine will be my flat iron, lame I know. But something about having sleek polished hair makes me think I look good even if I'm feeling like a moose.

Re: GTKY: What makes you feel beautiful?

  • A good hair/skin day is about all that's doing it for me right now. I feel like I need to invest in some mumu dresses to get me through the last trimester.

  • Getting my eyebrows threaded. No matter how bad the rest of me looks, I somehow feel better after getting them done.
  • Painted toenails! I pretty much live in flip flops for the summer, and I love my bright pink toes.

Olay Body Quench lotion is pretty great. I also use the Burt's Bees Belly Butter on my hands and legs, and it's nice.
  • A nice relaxing bath or shower always makes me feel better. Especially if I somehow get one in in the morning (playing stay at home mom for the summer). It just makes me feel like a new woman!
  • My very special, uplifting bra. lol. Seriously, with these puppies getting so swollen, my used-to-be-too-big bra that supports them is amazing. Plus the cleavage is awesome. Also, doing my nails helps- something about having pretty fingertips! It's the part of me I see the most, after all.
  • Cetaphil cream (the tub not bottle) is amazing for dry skin!
As for what makes me feel beautiful , my girlfriends! I am the last of my group to have a baby and the kind words and excitement they have for me is incredible. My Hubs is very supportive as well :)

Also I bought some great well fitting designer maternity clothes at A Pea in the Pod .
  • I second the cetaphil! I also use hempz and jergens because I have travel sized ones in my purse but I use the cetaphil every morning and night and it helps so much!

I feel beautiful when I take the time to do my hair. Most of the time the messy bun wins though :)

As for your lotion recommendation: Ro's Argan Oil body conditioner from lush. It's fabulous.

And as for my beauty routine, I've been making my own salt/sugar scrubs. It's really relaxing and so far they've been working!
  • When my husband helps me shave my legs
  • I've attached an image of the lotion I like. :)

As far as feeling beautiful, I love when I find the motivation to put on a full face of makeup. And when I shave my legs really well.
  • A good hair and make-up day and a cute maternity outfit. As uncomfortable as I can be at times I love my bump in a cute outfit

This is going to sound waaay lame, but honestly i feel gorgeous when I'm out with DH. I got me a great man and he constantly tells me how amazing i look, its a great self esteem boost!

When im having an off day, I'll just spend some more time on my makeup that i normally barely bother with.

Also, maternity outfits helped a lot. Getting out of those sweatpants and into some cute clothes was one of the best days this year, instant boost!!

  • @slhawkins25 I love coconut oil for my belly !! But it doesn't help my echemza :( !b
  • Bronzer!!!!!!!! Any type! Sunless tanner, body butter Bronzer, face Bronzer to highlight and contour... Can't get enough, just gives me that extra umph in the day, even when I'm feeling puffy or sick.
  • As cheesy as it is, my hubby. Never thought I'd be the FTM that was bummed about my body changing but I totally feel the hormones take over sometimes and he has been fantastic! Compliments, telling me I'm beautiful, sexy, carrying so great- nothing like the love of a good man. ❤️
  • Iused regular lotions for years and hated them. Then used a hemp cream for a while. Coconut oil for years and just recently switched to tallow balm. Which sounds gross but is jaw droppingly effective. I spent forever researching why to use it and sadly no longer tremember much of what I learned but if you are curious give it a google. I'm never going back.
  • A good haircut! I always feel like I have an extra bounce in my step after coming out of the salon...nothing fancy, just a cut and blow dry, but man, my hairdresser never disappoints, even if we change the style, she always gets it right! Sadly, I can never duplicate the same coiffed look the next day. :-/

    @slhawkins25 @amberrmariee20 I second the coconut oil...on hair, skin, cuticles....AH-mazing stuff.

  • @amberrmariee20 that's really interesting. Both my mother and baby brother have small patches of eczema on their elbows. Coconut oil is the only thing that helps them. Naturally and non medicated though.
