Hi, did anyone take their baby with to their 6wk check up at the gynae? Mine is this Friday and I don't have anyone to watch my little one so I must take him with. I just hope he sleeps, he usually does when we go out...
I'll be taking mine tomorrow. I'm leaving ds1 with his grandparents because he's 3 going on 4 and already too interested in why mama's peepee is different than his! Lol
But yeah, I'm taking ds2, my midwife is also an lc, and so I actually want him to be there because I have a couple questions!
No, glad I didn't because OB was called to a delivery and I waited an hour to be seen by the nurse. DD wouldn't have made it that long! Plan accordingly.
I took my baby girl with me to my appointment on Friday. I just fed her right before we left home so she was happy and slept the entire appointment! Thank god - I ended up getting an IUD inserted, so the appointment was over a hour! Good luck and it will be fine either way!
I took my son with me. I fed him right before the appointment. Between a full belly and the car ride, he slept the whole time! Through the short wait, exam, and lab work. I have been on thyroid meds for 3 years so had to have it checked post pregnancy.
I brought mine because my mom (babysitter) was sick. She slept most of the time but did wake up right before my exam. My doc didn't hesitate to kneel down and talk to her until she dozed off. I love my doc/practice for this exact reason! Going in with a full belly and a back up (bottle or paci) are the way to go!
I have to bring my ds too and it's an hour away. On past apt I've seen the nurses take care of the baby so I might bring a bottle of pumped milk if he's hungry during my exam. Good luck!!
I didn't and the office was disappointed. The secretary said that the staff looks forward to meeting the baby since they were there from the beginning. I wish I brought my daughter with me. I did give the announcement card to them though.

Did you already talk with your doc about the IUD previously? I'm hoping I can discuss my desire for one and hopefully get it inserted the same day without needing to schedule another appointment.
I'm taking my baby. The office called to remind me about my appointment and said they couldn't wait to meet him! The office is full of babies every time I go.
I am planning on taking DS and DD who is almost 3. My only babysitter had her knee replaced since i was on leave and so I have no one to watch either one of them. Thinking of seeing if my grandma will go with me just because DD was very sensitive the last apt we went to and I feel it would be good to have someone be able to sit with her.
I will be taking my LO to my appointment. Any time I went to my doctor there were tons of babies there which I can only assume was for mom's 6 week check up. So I'm not too worried about it. I'll just feed him ahead of time and fortunately my LO almost always falls asleep in the car. So he should be fast asleep by the time we get there (20 minute drive). Hopefully the appointment is on time!
OK I'll be sure to fill him up before we go! Good luck ladies... Can't believe it will be 6 weeks already on Friday... Time is whizzing by! Have to take poor baby for his immunization injections on Monday.. Not looking forward to that!
I took my baby to mine last week and I waited an hour to be seen brought her in her car seat. I had to feed her once when I first got there at 11, and then she sat in her car seat awake until 1 when we left! I'm so fortunate to have a good baby at this point. I will say though that it took me quite a while to get good at taking her places and she didn't always like her car seat lol when she cried because she was hungry in the doctors office and I had to take off her straps and lift her out (which took all of 30 seconds) I got a few stares because it was dead quiet lol but don't worry... You'll be okay! Even if baby is awake they may surprise you and just sit there!
I'm bringing my LO, my midwives requested that I bring her, as PP said, they were there with us from the start. I always feed her right before I leave home or time longer trips so that I get about 5 minutes away, feed her in the back seat, then she falls asleep in the short drive to my destination and usually stays passed out

And yes I'm taking LO... no other option.
Nope! I actually was planning on going back on the pill, but after hearing my doctor talk about all the pros and cons - I changed my mind and IUD was the one for me! He asked if I wanted to insert it that day and I did.
My DS and I both have appointments, so he's definitely coming (we have a family doctor). My 6 week got bumped because another mom was delivering and my doctor had to reschedule. They figured it was easiest to have them both at DS's two month appt.
I took her with me and got an appointment for her as well since i had a million question for the pediatrician but my husband was with me so he watched her while i was with my doctor
I just had my appt today, LO ended up waking up and crying to be held so one of the nurses held her during my appt and it totally made her day. They said they end up helping with babies all the time and love it
So I went for my check up yesterday, DH came with, baby feel asleep in the car so he waited in the car with him whilst I ran up. Good thing he came with as baby woke up 2mins after I left car and started crying! Appt really quick, I was out within 15mins!
My appt was yesterday and yes I took my baby with me and I'm glad I did because my doctor was happy to see her. I just feed her before we left to my appt and after my check up before we head back home
Took my lil guy with me to my 6wk appointment. When they called to remind me of my appointment they said looking forward to seeing you and baby, so I figured I would be safe to bring him with. He Ofcourse woke up right as they were placing my iud but it took all of maybe a few minutes and we were happily on our way! I'm sure they are very use to having babes tag along to the first appointment.
Didn't make it because I didn't have anybody to watch baby. My appt was going to take more than two hours since they have to test me for diabetes. I ended up canceling since I was worried baby would get too fussy.
