Heat wave

I live in Vancouver and we are currently going through a very hot, dry heat wave. The temperature got up to 38C yesterday! I am dying! I can't even go outside from 11 to 3 unless there is some sort of shade, and even then I am sweating my ass off! Anybody else dealing with extreme climates this summer??

Re: Heat wave

  • Yep getting nice and warm in MB . I caved and tuned on the central air last weekend, something i hate doing cause of cost.
When i was pregnant with DS it was crazy hot- we did not have central so i went to the mall or movies often. It was 38c the day we were discharged from the hospital with him.

    I'm in Las Vegas too!
We're on heat advisories as well. It's burning up outside!
  • Yes it's been so hot here and so ready to be done with it. Glad we have a pool to cool off in!
  • I'm in Vancouver too! Luckily, someone gave us an air conditioner for our bedroom window (it's not that prettiest thing, but whatever) and I'm so thankful. I definitely wouldn't be able to sleep without it. Keep cool this weekend!
  • Even here in England we've had a mini heatwave and I'm melting. My feet and lower legs just about exploded with swelling so bought myself a mini paddling pool to stick my legs in and had a fan stuck right next to me. I love the sun but it's the opposite while pregnant.
  • I'm just north in BC and am in the same heat wave. It's brutal. Thank goodness I have little kids and can sit in their pool while they play outside.
  • 91 today in Seattle, and no one has AC. We have an estimate coming out on monday but the earliest they could install would be late August! Ugghhh... Hosting a BBQ at my house with fans everywhere. I'm just chilling in front of one while DH watches all the kids in the pool outside.
  • Also in New England. The humidity has been aweful. The past 2 days I have been downing cucumber / lemon water like crazy. Have not had any swelling, water may be helping.
  • Yes, South Carolina here and it's been in the high 90's for a few weeks now with the heat index well above 100. My doc said stay very hydrated because not getting enough water can cause a lot of contractions and potentially lead to preterm labor.
  • Up in Northern California with no a/c it's been over 100 for a few weeks now. I feel like a bit of a party pooper for being so happy about the clouds and rain we're getting for 4th of July weekend but I can finally get stuff done around the house!
I'm actually really looking forward to being in Las Vegas next week to see my parents even though it's going to be super hot at least I can hang out inside or in the pool.

A fellow Las Vegas gal! When we set the record I basically wanted to bang my head against a wall.
