Heart beat theory

I don't find out my baby's gender until July 31st but the heart beat was 150 my mom thinks it's a girl because of the heart beat theory. It the Heat beat is 140 or over its a girl and 140 and under it is said to be a boy has this been true for anyone??

I'm having a boy and his heart rate was over 160 and yesterday I went to my dr appt and hr was 155 and I'm 14 weeks 2 days... I don't think the theory is right ..

Fetal heartbeat varies so much... Just like with an adult. Plus the heartbeat starts at around 80 when the heart first forms, gets up to 180ish around 12 weeks and then decreases again from there. This means that you could get a very different heartbeat just based on what point it was measured.

It is a fun way to guess at gender though! Mine was at 121 at 7 weeks, in the 170s at 11 weeks, and 156 at 15 weeks

I having a girl and it was 153. I found out the sex of our baby yesterday and the only predictor that was true was that girls steal your beauty.

I've broken out like crazy, but this is my first pregnancy. Don't know if that's how my body handles pregnancy, or because my little nina is trying to screw me over. :x

I'm having a boy... his has been 170 at 8 wks, 160 at 12 wks, and 150 at 16 wks.

I'm having a boy and he runs between 160 and 170. Last pregnancy was b/g twins and they BOTH alternated between 140 and 150. Usually closer to the 140 mark. So, in short, no, heartbeat theory doesn't work. But your mom still has a 49% chance of being right.

It doesn't work at all lol I went yesterday and my babies heart rate has been 160 the whole time and found out yesterday it's a boy

I asked my midwife and she said she likes to guess based on the sound of the heatbeat. She says boys sound like a train and girls a gallop unless the girl is sleeping and then sounds like a train.

Nope. Had a girl the first time and boy this time and heartbeat both 150s most of the time.

Didn't work for me. The heartbeat was always over 150 bpm and I'm having a boy!

@alessalogan that is what my midwife says too. I have had 2 previous boys both heartbeats sounded like a steam train this time it sounds like a horse. Guess ill have to wait 2 more weeks. Bpm were 160 but like pp im not sure i read to much into it all.

My son's heart rate was always around 150. I'm having a girl this time and it started out at like 161 and at my 16 week appointment (2 weeks ago) was 140. I think it just depends. But I am definitely having more breakouts too!

Did Ye even hear the theory of it sounds like a train it's a boy and it sounds like horses it's a girl worked for me on my first but this time I heard a train so only time will tell

It seemed to to work for me. High for my daughter and always under 140 for my son. This time it has been high 178- about 160 but, we will have to wait and see
