My friend told her 9 year old I was expecting before I made the big announcement and she told him it was a big secret. He very seriously asked, "Does she know she's pregnant?"
Then other day I was tutoring an 11 year old kid and my stomach growled. He asked if the baby was burping or something.
What funny pregnancy comments have you heard?
Re: Funny comments from kids
When I saw him recently, he lectured me and DH on not letting the dogs on my stomach.
"If they jump on your stomach, it's bad. They'd hurt you and we gotta take you to the hospital right away!"
He told us about 5 times, apparently his 7 month along mother had been warning him. He'd also shoo away the dogs.
When we said goodbye he said "Goodbye auntie! I love you! You're pregnant!!!!" And then ran away.
Then, she started jumping up and down saying she was so excited to get another sister. She always thinks of her cousins as siblings while her aunts are pregnant

We'll find out in 3 weeks or so. ;-)
She didn't talk to me for a whole day when we found out the sex of the last baby.
I also got the standard "how did the baby get in there" and "how is the baby going to get out?" Before I could answer, one of the boys responds "well they take a giant knife and cut ya strait across the middle!!!" He also had hand motions for the cutting and pulling the baby out. It was so great!
So they're walking by the maternity section and the kid says "What about that dress mommy?" and she says "No honey, that's just for mommies who are going to have babies"
So the kid says (about me i assume, i was the only person in the section) "Mommy, is that lady going to have a baby?" and the mom goes "Maybe she is!" and the kid goes "Will we get to see the baby get bornt right now?"
o_o Ok.
Apparently, they drove past a Buy Buy Baby and he asked, straight faced, "If we don't like the new baby, is that where we can sell him back?"
How do they think of this stuff?
Eta: when I left, he hugged me goodbye, kissed my belly and yelled "bye babies!!!"
My DH also likes to tell the story of our other nephew... When SIL told him she was going to have another baby and it was in her tummy he said, "Why did you eat the baby?!" Hahaha!
My 9 year old son is so protective over this baby already. Constantly asks if it's safe for me to eat certain things, even as I'm already devouring it. "Yes, buddy. It's safe for the baby if I eat this tub of ice cream." But thanks for making me feel guilty. Really hoping I can give him the sister he's begging for.
