Foot pain

I work a job where I am on my feet for 9-10 hours a day. I have never weighed this much before in my life and that, combined with summer and being pregnant and swollen, it's really taking a toll on my feet. Mostly my heels just ache when I get home, especially if I try and do anything after work or work 3-4 days in a row. I elevate my feet after work but it almost feels like restless leg syndrome. I can't seem to get any kind of relief. Any suggestions?

Re: Foot pain

  • Are you wearing good shoes? I was having bad back pain and my feet were swelling, but I switched to some super comfy sneakers and it's helped SO much. Plus, my mom just gave me her foot spa (it was maybe $25) and I can't wait to use it!

  • I would invest in better shoes. You may need to go up s half a size or in the width because your feet have expanded some.
    Compression socks help some too.
  • I had the same problem until I switched to some nice shoes.. I got Skechers with gel infused memory foam and they have been a life saver.. They were a little pricey but totally worth it.. My feet always feel better by the end of the day..
  • What all the pps said... a good pair of shoes and elevate when you can.
  • I have a really good pair of supportive shoes and I only wear them to work so they don't get worn out too quickly but I may invest in a new pair.
  • I'm thinking I just really overdid it yesterday between working and a town July 4th celebration with my 5yo and lots of play houses... Really overdid it.

Those days are the worst. Hopefully you get a relaxing weekend.
  • Can anyone recommend a really good compression sock?
  • Also I found a brand called Jambu... can be a little pricey, but they're like secret sneakers!

I wear dress shoes to work and like Dr. Scholl's. I got a few pair at Walmart. I didn't want anything too tight and they seem to work well.
  • I'm thinking of trying some sketchers go walk. Anyone have these?
  • My mom does and she loves them.. I'll probably get a pair eventually.. I've heard from people that are on their feet a lot love them..
  • Putting your feet in cold water when you get home can help. I get a bowl and put it next to the sofa. Good excuse not to do anything strenuous for half hour when I get home too! I just got some padded soft sandals yesterday, bit pricey but worth every penny. My feet feel so much better today. :)
