breastfed reflux mamas

So more and more I'm thinking baby Clay has reflux. I saw a symptom and sign list today on the Internet and he has a lot of them. I will be going to the doc tomorrow to see what they think but I wanted to ask you if they suggested changes in diet for you or if they ever suggested switching to formula. A good friend of mine said she was told to switch to formula and things improved (this was after medicines).

Also, did you see an improvement in sleep after being diagnosed and treated? Clay still only sleeps 2 hours at night and is a super light sleeper during the day.

I don't want to "call down thunder" and say he has reflux, but if he does and we get treatment, that would definitely be a perk all around.

Re: breastfed reflux mamas

  • My DD (6 weeks old) is breastfed and has reflux symptoms and vomiting and we're working with the doctor to troubleshoot some solutions.  I've cut out dairy from my diet and that has helped. You may want to try this and see how it goes for you.

The doctor also suggested that I give DD a probiotic and also take one myself.  I'm going to start that tomorrow.

If these don't help, then we'll talk about medicines or switching to formula (both I'd like to avoid if I can).
