I was told today at my anatomy scan that I had a low laying placenta and I would have to come back in 6 weeks, has anybody ever heard of this or know anything about it? I mean the doctor did tell me worst case scenario I have to get a c-section
It will most likely move out of the way. If it doesn't move you do have to have a csection because you placenta could profusely bleed during vaginal birth. During this pregnancy I had a complete previa at 8 weeks. At an U\S at 19 weeks it has moved out of the way.
There have been many posts about this in the last few weeks. I would suggest using the search feature. You'll have the best luck finding answers that way, as many regular posters won't answer a question they've seen a dozen times. I hope everything turns out well for you. From what I've read, most placenta move up on their own and end up not being an issue.
