Three week old wearing 3 month size clothing?

My three week old already grew out of newborn size and a lot of the 0-3 size onesies. She is so long that some of the 0-3 size onesies are too short and also she is a lot fatter. I noticed some of the 3 month sizes fit her pretty good and some of them are still a little big. I assume there are some variations of size in garments amongst one size. No idea how much she has gained so far since we left the hospital. She was 8lb 3 oz at birth and then when we left the hospital she was 7 lb 5.5 oz. Has anyone had this experience with clothes so far?

    It happens all the time. Baby clothes aren't one size fits all newborns. Just dress her in whatever size she is most comfortable in.

    FWIW, when my son was 9 months, he had just graduated to 18 month clothing.

    Same here. DS was 9lb 8oz at birth so we were in 3 mo from the start. Now at 3 weeks some of the 3 mo clothing is getting small. Made me sad to see all the newborn clothing. So cute in the drawer and he didn't wear any of it. Guess it will be great hand-me-downs for future nephews. No more kids for us!

    Yeah maybe the newborn stuff will fit my next baby....maybe. Seems like we make big babies in this family

    I am not really suprised that she didn't fit the newborn size but that she grew so much in such a little bit of time. Actually if she was born today like she was supposed to be she would never have fit newborn sizes
