I get this pain too. I try moving, that helps sometimes. As for not moving, my little goes through spurts. No movements for what seems like hours, then he throws a disco amd won't stop. Try and relax, drink something sugary and lay on your left side.
I am 39 weeks and still have pain under my ribs on the right side. I try to change positions, and I put a little counter pressure on that side of my stomach and she usually changes position. I hope it gets better!!
I guess if you feel confident that it's the baby stuck under your ribs it's probably not a big deal, but my doctor said if you're having constant pain in the ribs to call unless you knew it was the baby....if your baby is moving less though too and you're concerned you should just go in for a check up
I went from having a tingling numb feeling under my right breast over my ribs to now having a constant Indian burn feeling across the top of my ribs on both sides. Dr says is just the abs stretching. My LO is sitting really high so I know it's him but dang it hurts. Sometimes even something brushing against the skin hurts. Hope yours gets better!
Have you tried stretching your ribcage by putting your right arm up, elbow bent and hand behind your head? I've had the same pain for a few weeks now, am 38.4 today, and just the little extra room the stretch makes helps a lot, especially after eating. Although after a little while my arm goes numb so can't keep it up for long! As for reduced movements, do a proper kick count if you are worried, but my lo definitely makes less vigorous moves now it's so tight in there. They are more like sliding motions than full on kicking.
Pain under your right ribs can be an indication of preeclampsia. Is it tender to touch? Also if you notice a decrease in fetal movement you should be checked. Have you done a kick count? Not trying to scare you, but better to be safe than sorry.
