Protein test strips??

is there anywhere that you can buy protein test strips? I hate to go to L&D if I don't have any protein in my urine. My BP is back up (and yes my doc is aware), but I've asked to stay home to try and lower it again. DH thinks we should just go in. My doc says he thinks pharmacies sell them, but wasn't sure.

    Try Walgreens, Amazon, or a medical supply store. I would just go in though to be sure you're aren't spilling protein and so they can watch your pressure. I know you have to continually go back and forth to L&D but better safe than sorry. Maybe the hospital or doctor can even give you some strips. Hang in there.

    The problem I'm having, is I have no one to watch my kids. My in-laws are out of town, my parents just won't do it, and DH is on-call, which means he could be called in at any moment, leaving the kids home alone. And he can't take me there because he has to respond within 20mins and our hospital is an hour away. That's why my doc is working with me so much. DH gets off call on Friday at 4, so I don't mind going in after that.

    Oh, and doc called in an order for the strips to my pharmacy, but they have to order them and they won't be here until after 5 tomorrow. Because of our insurance, we use a local pharmacy instead of a big chain one because they are cheaper. But, if you think Walgreens has them, I will gladly go there to see.

    I completely understand. I think they are behind the counter in the pharmacy or with the diabetic supplies. You can always call the pharmacy and ask before you make a trip there.

    Pharmacies sell them- even target and walmart! Usually the ketone strips have a protein scale on them as well! You just have to check! Good luck!!

    Our semi-local Walgreens just said they don't have them. I'm sending DH to Walmart to look.

    I get to go in tomorrow morning first thing to have my urine checked. He knows I have all my kids with me so he won't keep me unless my BP is really really high. I will be on BP meds he said. Thanks y'all, and just for the record...our Walmart, CVS and Walgreens do not sell them. Sucks!!
