Hello! We just started painting our baby room but have not purchased any furniture yet. I hear it takes 6 weeks to deliver should I be worried? Do I have time! I am A teacher and just finished school so now I have time to focus on baby stuff.
We just started ordering stuff. I ordered my crib and dresser from target and it took about a week to come. I guess it depends on where you are ordering from. I think you have plenty of time.
I wouldn't fret about it too much. We haven't even been able to start on baby's room. We had hoped to be finished with the remodeling 3 weeks ago, but it's gonna be another week before we can even paint At least I don't have to worry about furniture, we have an old dresser, and SIL (who recently gave birth) was given an extra crib that she's passing on to us, while my sister has offered a glider
I wouldn't worry. Delivery time varies by who you order from of course. I ordered all of our furniture through Sears and it had all arrived within 2 weeks. A lot of people don't finish the nursery until well into 3rd trimester and I don't see anything wrong with that.
I think you have plenty of time. Now that you aren't working (I'm assuming) time will seem to go by a little slower and you will have time to shop and set up.
Due September 6th and just started painting baby's room. I do already have our furniture from DDs 1&2. Don't fret. Talk to the company you order from to discuss shipment times before placing your order.
Due Sep 2nd and haven't started baby's room yet at all. I did order a crib yesterday. It's supposed to only take 2 weeks, but the baby will sleep in the master for the first few months anyhow so even if it's majorly delayed I'm fine with it. I'm waiting for my completion discount coupons to buy most things, I'll just make sure we have enough essentials to last us the first few days.
You have 3 months, you should be just fine, but if you are depending on the crib for baby to sleep in right away definitely check with the company.
You will most likely have time after that anyway since a lot of moms prefer baby in their room for the first few months or so. I wouldn't worry too much, we just moved and my entire house is crammed with boxes. LO's nursery isn't even on my radar for at least another week or two and I'm due August 31st. ..you are not alone.
I am due September 11th and we just moved into our new house this weekend.. We ordered out crib and dresser from Cardis and it was available for delivery the next day.. We haven't put anything together but you definitely have time and I wouldn't worry.. Good luck!!
I'm due 9/14 and I'm still working on cleaning out all of the office stuff from the room that will be the baby's. It was supposed to be done by today. Yeah...so didn't happen. Also a teacher here and in the same situation - had to wait for school to end (and hubby to finish grad school) before we could even start the clean out. Hopefully we'll get started soon. It eventually all works out. Same thing happened with DD#1. We got her room done (complete remodel: new woodwork, ceiling, carpet, wallpaper, etc.) in about 6 weeks, and we did all the work ourselves.
I'm due September 27th, and I haven't done anything for babies room yet, I didn't even think to worry until I read this post. I thought 3 months was plenty of time, didn't even think about possible shipping delays. Eeeeeek
This time I done with the nursery way early but that's because I had the room all empty and painted already by the time we found out. With my first we didn't buy our house till the 1st of September and he was born on November 12th. Needless to say we had nothing done at this point last time. I wouldn't worry.
I'm due September 26th and also haven't even started the nursery. We moved recently and his room has become a storage space for things we need to give away or put into the attic. Planning on starting it soon!
I am due the 29th too and all we have is the crib. We aren't ordering anything else until after my shower July 12. Look around and see if thay crib is sold other places and have a faster delivery time. But I think you should be ok. 6 weeks in the 2nd week of august. I'd get everything ordered by mid July.
I'm due Sept 12 and my hubs and I just bought a house. Needless to say not one of our rooms is ready yet as we have just started moving in and need to remove some tacky wallpaper/old carpets, etc. Not even really sure what all I still need for baby!! We'll be okay though, its overwhelming when u look at all the to dos at the beginning. But just take it a step at a time!
We bought our crib and glider from Babies R Us in stock, so were able to take it home and set it up the same day, so depends on where you plan on buying
I hear you! I'm due sept 21, we are buying another house for which we get keys tho Friday - but it needs a ton of renovations (like major stuff, support wall removal, flooring drywall the whole 9 throughout most of it) we have had all out major items since I was 3 months along.. But yeah so we won't be near done for at least 1.5 months. Pretty bummed about it but a new house is exciting at least!
I'm due the 29th as well. Hubs and I are building a house right now and go figure, it is way behind schedule. My little one will be nursery-less for the first 6 weeks or so. I am going to piece it all together once we get settled. It is a bummer to have these strong urges to nest and prepare but not really be able to act on them.
My friend is due in 6 weeks and still hasn't ordered don't worry. Is he/she staying in your room first? Also, I am due at the end of Aug and my room isn't even sheetrocked all the way (have plaster walls that are a disaster right now). Hard not to stress I know but hang in there!
I'm due september 26th and ordered my furniture Memorial Day weekend and it just got here yesterday. I only ordered so early because it was 50% off plus another 20% off so I got a killer deal. I ordered from pishposhbaby.com and when you order it says 1-3 weeks but then it got delayed for 2 more weeks for some reason. Another reason I ordered early was because i want to help set it up before I get huge. Anyway, I don't think your behind but I would at least start getting an idea of what you want so you can order it by the end of the month.
I'm due Aug 31st and all we have is paint and a crib. MIL is making her bedding and I would really like to see what we get from the shower before i start moving everything around. Baby girl will be sleeping in a pack n' play the first few weeks in our room anyway. I figure we have a roof over her head and warm, comfy place for her to sleep. I'm not stressing over having her nursery all pretty and ready for her the day she comes home.
Yeah, haven't done anything for a nursery yet but buy some supplies for wall decor I'm going to DIY. Unfortunately we are being PCSed (military move) 2 months after the baby is born, so I'm going to keep things minimal right now since I have no idea what the new house we move into will have in terms of room for baby stuff, or rooms in general. For now I'm using our guest room and getting a pack n play for next to the bed (where I will be sleeping after baby is born since hubby has a crazy work schedule), using our extra dresser in there for the changing table/station, and getting some organizing bins for the baby's clothes/closet. I was looking forward to doing a whole nursery over the next 2 months now that I'm off of work too, but it seems kind of pointless to do things like wall decals, etc, when we will have to take them right down. Oh well, sometimes simpler isn't necessarily worse
I haven't even started yet either and she's due September 28th. I've been in Texas since my husband deployed in April and won't be heading home until next week. We haven't bought anything for the nursery yet even though I have tried. I keep trying to order nursery items but having trouble with shipping to APO address.
Well I just ordered my third crib this month. First one Target shipped us the wrong one, gave me a credit but couldn't reorder from them for 1-2 weeks they said. Second one I ordered online Cymax (Amazon vendor) and had a preggo brain fart and ordered the wrong freakin one. Now I'm trying to sell that one new in the box on Craigslist because if I return to Cymax they charge me the shipping for the original order and to ship it back. I ordered a third on target again because they are having 10% off baby furniture for the 4th, I only waited 1 week so I'm hopeing that was enough time for them to fix their warehouse error so I get the right one, fingers crossed. But on the plus side both the first two cribs arrived within a week
Don't stress mama. Lots of the stuff you order can come super fast, regardless of what the shipping says. My crib came in 3 days and my folks ordered my dresser/changing table on Tuesday and it came Thursday. Target for both, crazy fast shipping. All will fall into place. We spent Friday and Saturday putting baby's room and closet together and it all worked out perfectly. I'm due 9/10 and finally feel like we have made sufficient progress and can be at peace.
We ordered yesterday and I'm due 1.5 weeks before you but we were waiting for a sale at the store where we were purchasing. Everything will be here when we need it! (We want the crib 2 weeks after LO's arrival because we need to keep our sleeper sofa for my mom at the beginning.)
Re: Due sept 29th baby room not ready
