Healthy Omega boost breakfast that's Easy!

Thought I would share with you momma's, anything I read on pregnancy nutrition says that the Omega fats are crucial to baby's brain development. This morning I made this pancake recipe and will be eating it every day from now on... Delicious and quick.

In a blender or food processor combine the following ingredients:

1-Banana
2-Omega 3 eggs
1-tsp flaxseed oil
1-tsp of cinnamon
1 Tbl Spoon each of:
Chia powder
Wheat Germ
Pumpkin Seeds
Walnuts

I coat my frying pan with coconut oil and fry this mixture as a pancake!

Enjoy :)

Sounds yummy but just a warning about flaxseed - it may be unsafe during pregnancy as it can act like estrogen. I believe in everything in moderation but it's good to be informed. In addition, flaxseed does not provide DHA (the type of omega-3s needed for brain development, but instead ALAs).

The eggs are a great choice though.

  • Oh really ? I'm taking a pre-natal Omega supplement ... Good to know that about flax. Thank you !

Walnuts contain ALA omega 3s; so not the kind you need for brain development. You need DHA - which comes from fatty fish, eggs, and some prenatals.
