I know my due date is wrong

I have been saying this since they gave me my due date. Im not totally crazy as i do have a medical background lol but heres the deal, Everytime we had an ultrasound, baby girl measured bigger by at least a week. At our anatomy scan she was close to 2 weeks ahead. Most recently I went to the hospital because I woke up on monday and my bp was 152/90 they monitored me for a few hours and checked on baby girl. My doc said she looks perfect and based on her heart rate she appears to be "extremely well developed for only a 28 weeker", apparently there were peaks in her heart rate that aren't commonly seen until they're into 30 + weeks.....this only adds to my suspicions. I'm convinced that baby girl is 30 weeks not 28. And that we can expect to see her the first week of september. Anyone else have suspicions about their due dates?

EDD are just estimates. By the first week of Sept you'll be full term regardless and safe to go into labor.

  • I had a suspicion about mine! My old OB would always say baby boy was measuring ahead but she would never change my due date. When I switched from OB to midwife, the midwife looked through my medical records and saw that My OB kept writing in my notes that babies due date was earlier than the one she was actually telling me! I don't know why the OB wanted to baby to come later, but my midwife changed the due date to the one that my OB was writing in my notes! I'm expecting my baby to be here at the beginning of September too!
  • i was talking to my friend who is also in the medical field (more well versed on the OB side of things) and a the due date is apparently a date in the middle of a 5 week window in which you could go into labor/give birth. i cant say i understand why they base your due date off the date of your last period. if you conceive in the beginning of your cycle versus the end, the due date would be different. the other thing the doc keeps saying is most first babies go over 40 weeks..which according to be my LMP would be sometime after the 19, but based on my calculations, 40 weeks is sept 5 (my wedding anniversary) HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! hahaha

  • My EDD is Oct 3rd but I'm convinced I'm going to deliver a little early. I'm thinking last two weeks of Sept. My best friends birthday is Sept 28th so maybe then ha! I'm only thinking this because my first came 2 weeks early and when my mom had my brother he came early too. More of a guy instinct than anything.

  • I have always known exactly when we conceived so I always knew my EDD even if it varied with the doctors. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Even though my EDD is right on this time, my little guy is measuring 2 weeks ahead each time.
  • My first EDD was October 3rd(she was measuring a few days ahead then), then the next appointment was Septemeber 29th, then the anatomy scan was September 26th. So mines bouncing around that week! I'm going with the 26th;)
  • I'm 28 weeks measuring 30, just like you! I feel like I'm further than my midwife keeps telling me. At my 24 weeks I was measuring 26. I hope to have him in the beginning of September.
  • My husband and I used fertility drugs to get pregnant. Going into our first ultrasound, I calculated my due date to be Oct. 21, but after the ultrasound they told me that my due date was Oct. 1. My husband and I definitely had a wtf moment. We have had many ultrasounds since then and my dates stay fairly close to the October 1 date. I sure hope that they are right (I still don't know how my due date can change so much when I know when I took the ovulation inducing drugs), because if they are wrong my baby will be induced a month early, rather than the 2 weeks that they are planning on.
  • My first always measured 2 weeks ahead and while he was a big baby he was born a day past his due date. With this one I have two EDDs, one from my OB (Sep 2) and one from my MFM (Aug 27). They are so close together and an EDD is just that anyway, that I'm not worried about it (baby IS measuring ahead this time as well).

  • My ob's due date is off by a week than what I think it is. Baby girl has been measuring bigger ever since week 8. I know when we conceived so there is no question in my mind that the due date is 9/17 and not 9/24. But if she needs some extra time in there she can have it :)
  • I'm due september 6th, but my ob said I'm actually around the 11th she said at dating it wasn't enough to move the date. I don't care when she comes. I plan on holding her here as long as I can. The longer she has to grow the better
  • I knew the exact date of conception with DD1 (IUI) and they still changed my due date to a week later because they said she was measuring small. Well she was smallish at 6lbs7oz but came two weeks earlier than the changed due date. This time my due date was changed by 11 days. I don't believe it, but not fretting it either. Baby will come when baby comes.

My due date keeps changing. Started September 25, then October 13 and then told it should really be Oct. 6th. My DD was 11 days early so thinking this baby will come late September. I feel my due date is closer to the sept date I was originally given
