Still super tiny... Anyone else?

I'm a FTM 26 weeks today, I'm gaining the right amount of weight and measuring good... I just still look so small, I have people constantly saying "you're so tiny" or "what belly" or "you're not 6 months pregnant". Ugh it gets so annoying. There are a couple of girls I know that are pregnant and they have these cute bellies, I get a little jealous... I'm not in a rush to be uncomfortable and big... I'm kinda just over the comments and people thinking I'm doing something wrong. Anyone else still small?

Re: Still super tiny... Anyone else?

  • You have an adorable belly! I wish mine was cute, I just look chubbier.

Don't stress I think you look fine and if your doctor isn't worried just let it be!

  • Although this is the earliest I've ever really shown (with my previous pregnancies I didn't show until around 7 mos) people still don't believe I'm as far along as I am. With my first, it kind of bummed me out because I was really excited about having a baby bump, but now I enjoy the fact that I remain in my regular clothes for most of the pregnancy.

Everyone's pregnancy journey is different. Don't let other people's experiences make you feel like something is wrong with yours. Your bump is adorable!
  • I'm sorry people are saying that to you. I get it, too, and it's really annoying.  I feel like the best comment to make about a pregnant woman's body, if any, is "you look great."  Not "you're so big" or "you don't look pregnant at all!"

So - you look great!  :)

I'm the same way as you!! people are sometimes ever surprised I'm pregnant. I'm slowly starting to notice more, but I'm eager to show more! You look so cute!
  • I am almost completely flat!
  • With my first it took till about 7 months before anyone noticed I was pregnant. This time around tho, omg.
  • It took a lot longer with DD for me to "show" enough for strangers to take notice. I remember feeling really stressed when people would tell me that I'm so small or that my bump isn't even a bump yet. I think they believe they are being complimentary, but the reality is that it makes you worry that baby isn't growing well! We will all pop a little differently, so try to take solace in your doctor's input more than anyone else!!

  • No but I look super huge lol! Honestly you look adorable and as long as doctor says your ok I wouldn't stress we all carry these babies differently

My mother was always really small with all four of us. A nurse actually accused her of using drugs once because she had such a hard time gaining weight! I just need to stop listening to what people say, thanks ladies :x

I look the same as you, and feel great about it! I'm happy the way I'm carrying....could be worse.
  • You look great! I wouldn't worry if your dr isn't . I had the same type of comments w my first because I was just overall tiny the entire time . If you're too big they seem to not be ok w it either and comment. People are never pleased .
  • You look super fab. I wouldn't worry at all so long as your doctor's cool with everything. You go, queen!
  • I'm currently bigger than two of my friends were when they gave birth. I'm not huge by any means but they both carried very tiny. Everyone is different and your bump is cute!
  • I am in the same boat! Still really small at 26 weeks. I think you look great! :)

  • It's hard to tell but I think I'm about the same size as you at 25 weeks. My worst at work is "you don't even look pregnant I have more of a baby bump than you do!" (No, not a pregnant person) I just walk away uncomfortably when I get that one twice a week or so because I don't know to respond.

I get that one the most too! It definitely has to be one of the most irritating ones.
  • OMG you are adorable. I look like that when I'm not pregnant! LOL! I'm so big it's obvious. People just come out and say "when are you due?" unlike a few months ago when they would hesitate to say something because they weren't sure. I am just very obviously pregnant but this is my second and I had a little pudge in my belly from the first so that's just how it goes.

  • I always get confused when I read these because I don't know how anyone could be offended by comments like, "you're so small." I'm one of those people who can gain weight just looking at food, so it makes me feel great about myself every time someone points out that I don't look like I'm as far along as I am. I would never consider it to be an insult or a negative comment about my body.

BTW, your belly is beautiful and you look fantastic.

  • I'm in the same boat! Almost the same size as you as well! As long as the baby is healthy and growing I wouldn't listen to what anyone else is saying! You look great!
  • I was just going to post something like this. I am the same as you. I'm still able to hide the fact that I'm pregnant at all. I've read that some ladies just really don't get bumps at all or not until the last few months. We just must have stronger stomach muscles.

I'm not very big either but I am sure it is coming. I've heard a lot of FTMs really pop in month 7. I don't mind my size but I get a lot of comments like "Youre that far along? Where's the baby?", "Are you eating enough?" and "How's that belly coming?" "Are you big yet? Let me see...". Really people are going to say something no matter what size I am so I'm trying to ignore it.

  • No, I'm actually feeling huge right about now. :(
  • When I had my first (two years ago) I barely gained any weight and my tummy stayed really small. I got so paranoid about it but my doctor said just hang in there. I waited and waited for my belly to grow but it then came to nine months and it was still small. My son was born after 18 hours of labour and he was fine. He wasn't even that small but I guess it just happens. He is now running around and laughing like any other two year old. I'm now pregnant with my second and my belly is small again but I know it's nothing to worry about.

Just listen to your doctor, they really know what they're on about.

  • You look beautiful! I have been getting a lot of the 'your huge' and 'no way your only that far along'. There is no perfect size to be except what you are. If the doc is happy then you should be too. Growing a baby whether your big or small or in between takes a lot of work and we should be proud no matter what we looks like from the outside. Good work momma!

  • adriennerose80 at first, I took the comments to be compliments but now I am struggling with the concern of my baby being on the smaller side (I've had several ultrasounds). We are still within normal range but I'm anemic and needed to adjust my diet to include more protein. And while I know people have the best intentions when they say things like this, I can't help but get upset or concerned that my baby isn't big enough!

I totally understand what you are saying but just trying to point out the other side!

  • You look just like a friend of mine... Same smile everything .. You have a twin !! Haha that aside you look adorable and you have a tiny frame.. The belly looks so cute on you!! By your 9th month you won't care you'll be so anxious to get LO out and in your arms.. Ignore the comments everyone has them. some people can't help themselves unfortunately.. Word vomit ..

I definitely get what you are saying. I guess for me, since my doctor says my baby is right where she should be, it makes me feel good to hear these comments. But I am also self-conscious about my body so.... But you are right, it can be disconcerting if you're afraid you aren't gaining enough needed weight.

  • I wish I had this problem.  I have grown everywhere and just look huge.  All boobs, butt, and stomach.  As long as you are healthy and growing I wouldn't worry about it.  Whether you are big or small people always find a reason to comment on a pregnant woman's appearance.

  • I'm the same. I started out feeling like a blob so bloated and constipated I was wondering how Id make the 9 months without turning into a balloon. But now I'm 26 weeks pregnant and I swear it's all in my boobs. People keep telling me I look incredible but also look at me like I'm an idiot when I tell them I'm keeping active and eating healthy (like Im starving my baby or something). I am just ignoring what people say or think and glad I'm blessed with a pretty good pregnancy and a healthy baby inside!
