  • My hemmoroids still hurt 5 days pp. How long did yours last if you got them? I'm pretty sure it's the hemmoroids that's causing it hurt to sit on the bum and not the 3rd degree tear stitches- could be both.

  • Sooo tired. LO is only nursing for about 30 minutes, then falls asleep, but for only about an hour before he's awake and ready to eat again. Just tried unsuccessfully to have him nurse longer, no use. He's out. This has been the routine since 5 this morning. At least I got a good 3:45 sleep stretch in to start the night. Hoping he is ready for a nice long morning nap so I can take one too!
  • I almost pooped my pants this morning. The lack of sphincter control after delivery sucks. I made it though! I've caught the stupid cold that is going around our house. So I have lovely chest congestion and a headache. Sitting outside on my deck this morning nursing and enjoying my morning cup of Jo is helping. LO seems to be enjoying the change of scenery too. So many new things to tantalize the senses.

Symptom: Excitement and fatigue. First day home...So excited to be sitting on my own couch drinking my own coffee, not pregnant while LO sleeps after feeding. My dog is on my stomach, something I had previously vetoed due to being pregnant, and I showered and I am wearing new clothes after wearing the same thing for 2.5 days in the hospital. I am so excited for all of these things I don't even remember I had 3 hours of sleep!

Sounds great! Yesterday was my due date and I am thoroughly annoyed that the baby will not be here in June. It's the last day of the month
:(( :(( :(( other than that it's just end of pregnancy symptoms: hard to sleep, pain everywhere, and contractions that are getting me no where. Oh I long to hold baby in my arms and sleep on my tummy 8->

I almost pooped my pants yesterday morning. And I have a major headache today, too. Misery friends!

I had terrible gas that I just could not keep in at our first pediatrician visit. We were waiting for the doctor in this small room and I couldn't stop farting! I was so embarrassed. My mom kept saying, "Just blame in on the baby." I have a newfound appreciation for sphincter control.
  • just ate almost whole pineapple. still pregnant..
so exhausted all the time these days and it sucks.
    DH is always tired too.
getting a bread maker today so at least i have something new to play with. and i bought a big box of blueberries. hopefully will aid in the lack of pooping taking place lately.
  • I've felt kind of blue today. My LO has been sleeping so much better at night, but since I'm still staying downstairs on the couch and putting her in her rock n play I don't think I'm sleeping that well. She slept from 11 to 5 last night (probably won't happen again for a while) and I didn't sleep much at all. My mom keeps telling me to get out of the house or take a nap, but I just hate having her watch her...so instead I broke down in tears and then had to run to the bathroom because I have diarrhea (I think my belly isn't use to my coffee yet). Grrrr I hate being emotional, but I'll be okay :\">

Anyone noticing the PP hair loss? Ugh! It's annoying. It's not visibly noticeable, thank goodness! But I am shedding hair like crazy! It's on my clothes, on LO, on my boob when I feed him... It's just a nuisance more than anything.

I hope everyone has a good day'

Me! I noticed it last night when I was in the shower. There was so much hair in the drain and I kept shedding as I was washing it. I know it's normal but I wanted to cry. I thought I could bypass the hair loss by continuing to take my prenatal vitamins. This lady at a nail salon told me it works, nope looks like she's wrong :(

I've also been waking up in the middle of the night all sweaty. Like I'm having hot flashes.
  • Dear Diary :p,

We had a rough night after babe was quite fussy all day, and I checked his temperature and it kept bouncing between 37-38.2 C. Everything online is terrifying about newborns with fevers which didn't help. We were ready to head to the hospital when I finally got through to a nurse on the phone who explained that the $60 forehead thermometer I was using was probably just inaccurate. She then had me use my regular thermometer under his arm and he didn't have a fever. Thank goodness. The last place I wanted to take him was a germ infested ER at 3am.

So note to any other new mums who have one of these demons, apparently they aren't very reliable, despite their cost and fancy packaging lol so don't panic!
  • You need to be using a rectal thermometer. Axillary is not accurate. A temperature greater than 100.4 in a newborn gets you sent automatically to the ER in the U.S. Not something to play around with unfortunately.

Mine lasted a good two weeks and even at 4+ weeks they don't hurt but I still feel "bigger" down there than before. Good luck, it will go away! My doc gave me hydrocortisone cream to reduce swelling.

I wonder how long it lasts? I will ask at my 6 week appointment Thursday. It's just so annoying! And it's everywhere! I found a hair in the crockpot tonight :((
    Good luck!

We were told in multiple classes to use a thermometer under the armpit and not to use a rectal thermometer. They didn't say why though...

I'm in the medical field and have never heard that. Maybe bc some parents don't know how to use a rectal thermometer? Who knows. But axillary is normally 1 degree off. Rectal thermometer is most accurate.

I should stop completely by one year out. If it is noticeable that just means you were one of the lucky ones that had luscious locks due to an extended hair growth phase brought on by pregnancy. If it doesn't stop after a year you need to have your thyroid checked.
