All I can say is I didn't like Gerber brand. They ran crazy small and by the time I would reach for one, LO was too big. All other brands were fine. Maybe I should have put every size in a different pile, like a Gerber 0-3 in a newborn pile with all other brands.
Carter's. Plus they give you Carter's cash so every $50 you spend you get $10 back. I can't tell you how many times I blew $200 there and went back a day later to spend $40 more. It's sad really. I like all their stuff, because they make everything long enough.
Obviously haven't used them yet but the burt's bees onesies are supposed to be organic cotton and they're sooo soft! I've been snatching a bunch up at Marshall's and tj maxx when I can find them! I got one for $1 the other day because someone stole the pants that went with them! Not sure WHO on earth would do such a thing or WHY they would feel compelled to do so, but I can't say that I'm mad about the deal I got because of it!!!
I have been buying a ton of Burts Bees stuff. I stalk their site all of the time because they have an awesome clearance section and always have a good coupon code!
I don't know that I really have a favorite brand, but I will say when it comes to sleepers, I prefer zip up over button up - just think about how many times you will be changing that baby during the day and night, do you really want to be stuck there doing a million snaps very time? Just saying...
Omg yes on the zip. I had my MIL go to a secondhand store to buy as many zippered footie pjs in NB and 0-3 because mine were born in the dead of winter with reflux and that's all the wore for 4 straight months.
I liked gerber for when she was little. Carter's brand in newborn and 0-3 shrunk weird on me and ended up short and fat. Didn't work at all. Once she got a little bigger though the Carter's ones worked better (especially the long-sleeved ones)
I don't love onsies at all. But I prefer Carters, especially the ones that have the split at the neck to make it easier to get over baby's head. Old Navy is my second choice.

This x1000. I can't even tell you how many times I would miss-button DD's sleepers in the middle of the night and have to start over--such a pain! The sleepers with zippers are heaven sent!
Carters are a no-brainer. They always fit predictably, long and stretchy and not too wide. Old Navy andDisney onesies were inconsistent in the fit, often being too short and way too wide.
I usually buy Carters at Costco, a few PJs and a couple casual play sets for each size.
Baby Gap! I purchased all of my baby's clothes from there every time they had their 40-45% off sale including sale items. I was also given hand me downs from my SIL and noticed that all the onesies from baby gap held up longer than Carters after multiple washes.

Old Navy sells baby nighties - even better. Best purchase I've made yet for clothing!
