Coming home outfit

Sorry if there is already a thread about this, I scrolled through and didn't see anything. What are you planning to have baby wear home? I have always picked out something special with each baby, but I am having a hard time finding something I like this time. Pics of outfits would be great! Thanks!

Re: Coming home outfit

  • There was a thread like this a month or 2 ago.

I plan on bringing a romper and a pair of footie pjs.  I will decide when we are getting ready to leave what to put him in.  I don't go out of my way to dress for going straight home.

  • We had a hard time finding an outfit we both agreed on. And for some reason finding newborn sizes is hard around where I live. But we found at Kohls a onesie with short sleeve jacket and pants. So we can dress her up or down depending on the temperature.
  • If it's ungodly hot (like everyday in NC), does baby need a jacket or cardigan and pants? I had a little dress and bloomers baby was going to come home in! Now I'm second-guessing seeing warm clothes in this thread, as well as the last!
  • It's hot where I live too- but she'll only be outside for a short minute to click the seat in the car. So, I'm preparing for the 70degree-ish AC rooms she'll be in all the time.

I ordered outfits like these, they are custom made. These aren't them, but give you an idea about them.

    Colten James - 9/9/2005

    Isabella Ann - 7/20/2012

  • I don't do fancy outfits. FFC: I don't understand getting them all dressed up just to take them home. I plan on putting him in a onesie like I did DS.

Same! I'm just going to stick her in a onesie and socks and have a blanket handy. It's not like we will have visitors and she will probably have a poop explosion in the car on the way home anyway ;)
  • I'm bringing a romper plus a long sleeved/legged sleeper in case we have a boy, and a soft cotton dress/bloomers plues a long sleeved/legged sleeper for a girl (team green). I'm in OK, so it very well could be 115 that day, and the A/C in the car does not guarantee it will be cool enough for the sleepers, but I want the option in case it is (may only be 90 degrees that day for all I know...)

Oh, and I never really dress them up. I choose basic soft cotton things that they will wear again that I think are cute. DD came home in a footed sleeper that had kittens on it and a matching soft cotton hat (Dec baby)
  • A onesie and some socks and an AA blanket. I live 5 minutes away from the hospital and we will be doing nothing but going home and definitely won't be seeing anyone.
  • This for our soon to be new little handsome man!

MIL knitted the cutest yellow outfit. She lives too far away to be present so he will wear that home (5 minute car ride) and we will take plenty of photos. (she's the best ever and that will make her happy, I dont mind)
  • PIcture is dark but it's a baby pink color
  • I have two onesies packed, one in newborn and one in 3 months.
  • @lethanne if that is a gown please remember you will have to pull it up for the car seat buckle. Maybe bring a pair of thin pants for under it.
  • We got a onesie with dinosaurs on it that comes with grey pants and little dinosaur looking feet covers and a beanie that has the face and ears. It's cute and fun.

    That is adorable
  • Something super comfy.
  • Are you ladies getting newborn or 0-3 month sizes in the coming home outfits? I've heard that some babies don't even fit into newborn but she is measuring a week behind my due date (not sure of weight or measurements, that's just from what my widewife measured from my stomach).
  • The onsie and pants are the plan. Will have the footies and hat on hand if needed. These are newborn. I may bring a 0-3 just in case, but I assume newborn will fit right away. Will see!
  • We ordered this off Etsy to bring our little guy home in since Dad (and grandpa!) is a firefighter. He's been measuring a little bigger throughout the pregnancy so we decided to order it in 0-3 months, thinking we'd sooner be safe than sorry. Haven't received it yet... can't wait! His will say Engine 1 Matthew on the hat and Matthew down the onesie :)
  • This is the planned coming home outfit -- i thought the baby would be bigger so we bought it in 0-3 months but i may go back and get it in NB size now that we know he'll be smaller, just in case.

Love this! We got this outfit as a gift. Is yours newborn or 0-3? Ours is 0-3 so I thought it might be too big for coming home.
  • @mrswiebe09 yes thank you! It ties at the bottom so little pants will work perfect for that. Great call, safety first!!! It really is adorable though
