I have it and I'm not a huge fan. I've had mastitis twice so I've been trying to pump till I'm empty and it seems like it takes forever. I was given this breast pump by a friend because military insurance didn't cover pumps but starting July 1st they do and I'm going to get a medical grade one.
I have a medela double electric handsfree and it's the best one I've ever owned. I'm glad that I got this one after the other manual and electric single and double pumps I've gone through.
I have the Ameda purely yours. It was free with my insurance, and I like it. I pump about ten minutes, twice a day and it empties me out. I have an oversupply and overactive let down though so just a little pressure on my boob makes it squirt in the air. I don't go back to work until mid August so I don't know how it'll be pumping three times a day. So far, so good though.
@kremerj1 I'm no pump guru but I guess how long it lasts/durability. A lot of women say theirs didn't hold up and motor went out within short amount of time. So just checking w moms to see if this one was durable.
Thanks everyone, I got the ameda and it worked great tonight.
I got mine free with my insurance. It works fine for me because I'm a SAHM who only pumps once or twice a week when I'll be out of the house without baby for a couple of hours. It takes me about 10 min. to get 4 ounces, which is fine for me. If I was going back to work and was pumping more often I'd want something better but it serves the purpose for me.
I had one with my first child and didn't like it, I had supply issues and I felt it took forever to empty me. This time I got the Medela Freestyle and I love it so far.
I have it and don't like it- I pump almost exclusively and it was not great and ended up lowering my supply, so I got a medical grade medela that the nurses said I can use until I'm done nursing as long as I call them monthly to let them know I need to keep using it. With the ameda it was rough with the pumping (didn't ease into it with a cycle like the medela has) and the phalanges were not big enough with no way I saw to replace them with larger ones. I got it free from insurance. If you're using it every so often it's not awful but if you pump daily I'd advise medela.
