metoclopramide

hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this drug?

My doc prescribed it to me for morning sickness after antihistamines stopped working. But I read on the patient leaflet that it's not suitable for first 12 weeks of pregnancy (I'm just 13). Should I worry?

Re: metoclopramide

  • This is also called Reglan right? My dr prescribed this for me at 14 weeks and said it was safe because I was well over 12 weeks. At first I didn't want to take it because of some of the possible side effects, but without something to stop the vomiting, I knew I would end up in the hospital again. Anyway, I took it for 2 days, and it didn't work for me and I had to go back on Zofran. Apparently it does work really well for a lot of women though. I think it is pregnancy risk category B- which means there is no evidence of risk in humans.

  • If it is Reglan, I have taken it.
  • Yeah, metaclopramide is Reglan.
  • I take it every day and have since I was 10 weeks or so.
