Foot cramping?

For the past 2-3 weeks, I've been getting regular cramps on my left foot, right at my arch. Anyone else experiencing foot cramps? Is this a normal symptom in the first trimester (I've read cramping is common later on, but I'm only 10 weeks right now). Thanks!

Re: Foot cramping?

  • I get that occasionally (I mean before I was even pregnant) not often though.  Sometimes in the middle of the night.  Best thing to do (especially in the middle of the night) is put your bare foot on the floor or a cold surface. It helps make it go away.  I haven't had any cramps yet but I do remember that my mom used to say she got frequent leg/foot cramp while pregnant.

I haven't had this yet, but with my first pregnancy I got frequent cramps in my calves and feet, most often in the middle of the night if I tried to stretch to far. I found that if I made sure to eat a banana every day that seemed to help a lot. I think it has something to do with the potassium in bananas...?
  • I have been dealing with foot cramps since I was a teenager. My basketball coach in high school told me to eat a banana every day and make sure I stay hydrated and it seems to work. As I got older and changed my exercise routine I had to add some foot stretches too. You can roll your feet on a tennis ball and it will work on loosing the arches.

    Hope that helps!
