Increase of fetal movement right before labor began???

my baby has been notorious for not moving very much at all my entire pregnancy! He will give me a couple kicks and then be done lol. But as of the last hour I'm just laying in bed and I swear he's doing somersaults and he will not stop moving! Literally constant rolling around - this is the most I've felt him move my entire pregnancy and I'm 37 weeks today! I've been having frequent and painful contractions since Sunday night but my water hasn't broken and no bloody show and as of Monday I wasn't dilated but could this increase in my baby's movement be a sign of anything? Especially since it is WAY out of what's normal for him?

Well my motherly instinct was right! Him moving around as much as he was was completely out of the norm for him so I went to labor and delivery to get him checked out because i thought he might be in distress from all the squirming around and the nurses looked at me weird and talked down to me because I came in because my baby was moving too much when usually it's the opposite that people are worried about. But I know my baby and I knew something was up and sure enough I got to the hospital at 1 am and was dilated to a 5! They broke my water once I was dilated to a 6 and within an hour I dilated to a 9! I pushed for 30 mins and out came Jameson Kyle born at 9:19 am on 6-27-15 weighing 5lbs 5oz and 18 in long he was 37 weeks and 1 day but healthy as can be

First of all, congrats, and secondly, wow! You follow your instincts and you were right!!! I'm so impressed. The same happened to me last Thursday but here I am still pregnant lol!
