Girls names?

Helloooo

So I have been certain from day one that I'm having a boy until I had a dream that I was having a girl last night.
I reeaaaallly cannot think of any girls names at all and was wondering if any of you can suggest any..?
I would like something a little bit different.
I have a few boys names but get this... My partner wants his boy to be called Linc....
I said yes to Lincoln, Linc for short and he said absolutely not!
I've thought of a few boys names and think it's a lot easier but pleaaaase if any of you could show me the light on some lovely girls names suiting the surname of Arbon please share :)
Sorry I couldn't find any girls name topics in the search bar.

Re: Girls names?

  • My DH and I have quite a few girl names that we like and only 2-3 boy names.  We have pretty much narrowed it down to 1 for each that we really like.  Everley for a girl and we will call her Evie for short.  We also liked Avery, Brooklyn, Ashlyn, Charlotte, Adalyn, and I like Emmerson (DH was not a big fan).  No real significance with a few of those ending in "lyn" we just liked them.

  • Lol we also picked Everly for a girl and would call her evie for short :)
  • Girl LOLA PAIGE PARKER
  • I am the opposite. I cannot think of a boy name that I like for the life of me. DS was nameless for 5 days after he was born and if this one is a boy, it'll probably be the same! Girl names however I have a few:

    Eloise (Ellie for short)
    Annalisa
    Gia
    Aria (husband's pick)
    Sienna
  • DH and I like the name Winry. Our first was a girl and we had a really hard time finding a name for her! I know it sounds stupid, but honestly every female name we liked we got from TV shows. Watch a few shows you've never seen before, including credits, or scan the CD section of a store next time you're out. One might pop out at you. :)
  • So, there is a baby name board, even if you don't post there, you can browse the other threads to get ideas.

I would put my foot down with Linc/Link. It's a great nickname, but it's not really a full name.

It would also be such a disappointment to meet a kid named Link who isn't always wearing the same green tunic and hat. No gifs cause mobile.
  • I haven't told DH any of my top girl picks for fear he'll just shoot them down. My favorites right now are

    Aria
    Emilia (NN Millie)
    Merideth
    Autumn
  • I know a kid in real life named Link Nighthawk. His siblings have equally unique names. And yes he is named after legend of Zelda Link...

  • I've always loved the name Phoebe. We are using Lillian Grace for our little girl.
    Emery
    Makayle
    Iliza
    Keeley
    Emmerson
    Or Emmaline
  • Thea (pronounced t rather than 'th'), autumn, arla, our favourite is Thea we're struggling with girls names too, boys are easy! Xx
  • My mother is begging for a baby named after her so we agreed on her middle name which is Lynn. The only name I liked with Lynn in it is Brittlyn. But I am keeping my fingers crossed for a boy bc my husband finally agreed on the name Greyson
  • I like Casey and Shannon, but that's just Irish old me!  I think most of the fun is going though names together and finally being like...omg CUTE LOVE.  Buy a fun book and make it a game!
  • cjd&kcjd&k member
    Olivia
    Phoebe
    Charlotte
I can't get Chrysanthemum out of my head, but it reminds me of the flower and the book about the mouse. Maybe I just like to say it because it sounds pretty?? lol
  • I think for a boy we really like Jaxon. For a girl I wanted spring more biblical such as Serafina
  • @ldepaola I love Serafina, that was my first choice last time but was worried that people would call her Sera (Sarah) for short. I don't love the name Sarah.
  • My husband and I have always loooved the name Sadie for a girl. Not too off the wall weird, but also not super common either. :)
  • Yeah I haven't heard Sadie in a while.
Hey so I swear some of my posts on this thread have disappeared :S
    Odd
Well my boy won't be called Linc for sure haha
  • @rebbeccaj some posts definitely did disappear after the maintenance update. I've had several of my posts disappear on different boards!
  • My niece is Ava (10yo). She lives with my parents (long story) so she and I are SUPER close. I want to choose a name that goes with it. I like:
    Alivia
    Emma (family name)
But hubs doesn't. We have some boy names picked out too. Ava started a list of names for us. There's 60 on her list and I think they are mostly her friends names, except I don't think she has a friend named Gandolfo! Haha
  • Had the girl name down before 10 weeks. We struggled with the boy name because SO would not budge on Jackson. I like the name - I just know a lot of women who named their sons Jackson.

If it's a girl she will be Elise Margaret

Girl names I just ran through how it would sound - we had a different middle name we were considering. My long time friend lost his mother right around the time I found out I was pregnant and her middle name was Margaret. She was such a precious woman and I loved her, so much.

I think we finally got away from Jackson last night. We like Owen the best.
  • @Karaepp16 Elise is my favorite girl name but I can't sell my husband on it!

Owen is my great grandfather's name and a frontrunner for one of our boy names.  You have great taste ;-)

  • @happyandhopeful3 SO was not digging Elise at first but he heard me say it out loud with a good middle name and the last name - sold him. Maybe try presenting it that way? I knew I wasn't going to get him on board with Elizabeth and Elise is prettier/not as common. We'll call her Ellie or Ellie Mae for short. SO gets all soft when we talk about calling our little girl Ellie Mae and it's adorable!

Owen is a great boy name! We just have decide if we'll do Owen Daniel orrrrr Daniel Owen.
  • My 2 favorites are Avery and Olivia. My hubby hates both
  • @KaraEpp16 Elise is my daughter's name. :)
Thank you for spelling it properly too ;)
I have an acquaintance whose daughter is 4 mo older than DD and they spelled her name Elyse.
  • We're loving Lucy for a girl. Still trying to determine middle name. We're thinking Agnes because it's my middle name, my mum's first name and both of my grandmothers were named Agnes as well as numerous aunts and great aunts. But, I hated it as a kid and only grew to appreciate it much later in life.

We were joking yesterday that if baby happens to comes on Christmas Eve/Day then we'd have to add in a Christmas middle name just because we're both Christmas crazy! I doubt that'll happen though and hope it doesn't!

  • @StephPegasus I figure its already a very unique name - why make it even harder to find something with her name on it. haha. I know that's silly but I would always look for my name on things in shops and it was difficult. My mom would always get me an item that had my name on it, if we were lucky to found it. I think I could count on one hand how many times I actually found one.

    It's a beautiful name. I really hope I'm having a girl. :P
  • @KaraEpp16 right? We like it and chose it because its pretty, and uncommon but not unusual. People can figure out how to pronounce it.
I am actually having a hard time finding any other girl name I like as well as hers. Not trying too hard because we don't know the gender yet but my short list of girl names is dissatisfying at this point.
  • @StephPegasus I really love the name Brenna. I come from a huge Irish Catholic family and it's one of the only ones that hasn't been used!

My sister's name is Madeline. There are a lot of pretty girl names its just tough because you always knew someone who...blahblahblah.

My parents chose my name like this: Dad picked an uncommon girl's name who he went to high school with who was super nice to everyone. Mom picked an uncommon girl's name who she went to high school with who was also super nice to everyone. Done deal.

    So I'm Kara Elaine.

    Both names mean pure. lmao.
  • We are stuck on the name Owen too if it's a boy!! It's a family name and is super special to us. ❤️ The full name would be Owen Zachary .
  • Crystalie
    Emorgin
    Delana
Those r my real names I am Christian n south African so we have many names that not even including my surname. Lol maybe someone will like these >:D<
  • My niece is named Violet Elizabeth, beautiful combination that's unique but not over the top. I'm kind of sad that my sister beat me to it lol
  • My girls name is Brooke Elizabeth... Always loved the name Elizabeth... I think Brooke is a beautiful name and not common at all :).
  • If it's a girl then we are going with Gladys Mae. I don't have any boy names picked out.
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • I love timeless names! Our daughters name is Audrey. And if this happens to be a girl, first name will be Stella. We haven't talked middle names yet.
  • Owens a lovely name!
Jackson is my surname so that's out haha!
Madeline is nice but it just reminds me of maddy mccan..
Sienna is nice and I really like Amelia!
So in the post that deleted I explained the argument of my partner wanting the name Linc. He's obsessed of this motorcross rider and has been saying since he was a kid that that will be his first sons name.
I thought Lincoln as a full name and Linc as a nickname was meeting in the middle but he just seemed pretty angry about it...
I mean he is from port Lincoln Australia so I understand why but... I really like the name Lincoln!
He thinks it's a girl anyways but girls names are so much more difficult!
For boys I like Lincoln, Levi, Logan, Eli, Curtis, Connor maybe.. Mason, Hudson and Lucas..
    Girls names:
    Amelia
    ....... Ummmmmmm......
  • Also I hope they will be able to tell at my 12 week scan if it's a girl or boy. My sister is a midwife and on all 4 of her kids she knew at 11-12 week scans
