Team Green Mommas!

Does every single person you talk to ask you if you "have a feeling what it is" and "do you care"?

I'm getting a shirt made
"Due July 29th
Don't know what it is
Don't have a feeling or preference
Don't have names picked out"

I know people are just being interested and making conversation so I try to be polite but man I can't wait to not have to answer these questions every single day!

Re: Team Green Mommas!

  • I'm not team green but I told my husband this weeks ago! Not that I get annoyed with people asking, it's just that it's so predictable when you're in public!

  • haha yes. People always ask  "I know you don't know but "what do you feeeeel it is?"

Umm, a baby? I honestly don't have any feelings as to boy or girl. We didn't know the first time around and the only inkling I had was constantly dreaming of a baby boy and we had a boy. This time I haven't had a single baby dream.

Then they continue to say, "well you are all baby so it has to be a boy".  I take the "all baby" line as a compliment though so were good ;)    The comments don't really get on my nerves, I think I'm just so used to it now I almost don't even hear them.

  • Lol. I wanted to make a shirt my first pregnancy that said "I'm due dec 14th with a girl. Yes it's my first and her Name is Ruby". I got sooooo sick of answering those questions. I rarely get asked any questions this time even when I got out without my first 2 kids. I must be giving off a "this ain't my first rodeo vibe".

  • I get asked all the time, and sometimes I'll tell them what I'm thinking at the moment, but I always make sure to add that I thought my daughter was going to be a boy so my mommy intuition is obvious not functional.
  • Honestly, people love that it is a surprise and I have only experienced a handful of questions or opinions. Some do give their myths and ask me what I feel, but rarely. And I usually say "a dinosaur." Most people tell me I look great or ask how far along. I kind of like all the positive attention from strangers.
  • When people ask what it is i respond humman- this normaly stops the silly questions and they move on to tell me my hands will be full or that second babies are so different than firsts or (my favourite) if it is a girl then we dont have pressure to have more as we would have one of each- (thanks for the family planning stranger)
  • I get this all of the time. What makes me laugh is how people try to divine what the sex of the baby is based on how I'm carrying, what I'm eating, how I'm feeling, how active the baby is....etc. One person said my belly is more round, so it must be a boy. Another said that I am round so I must be carrying a girl. Um. Where do people come up with this stuff? :-/ :-??

I'm team green, don't have names for either sex and am not usually asked what I feel, but rather told what the stranger thinks it is based on my appearance. It's funny because I can almost anticipate when someone is going to ask or say something now. I usually am wearing my headphones so I either pretend I can't hear them or I just try to smile graciously without responding. I am not up for much conversation with strangers these days.
  • I get this all the time. If I don't feel like answering I change the subject. I don't feel the need to let everyone know the names we picked, they can wait for the big reveal. I picked a boys onesie and my friend nearly lost it. You let everyone know what you're having! I just liked the monkeys and figured it would work for both. We never found out so how can I let someone know?
  • I have like the most stereotypical "boy" belly. I cringe even to say that because it's utter nonsense. Strangers constantly lead with "I can see you're having a boy..." I'm not, it is most definitely a girl and I'm enjoying bursting their bubbles!

Omgosh! I would totally jump on that "I can see you're having a boy" thing! "Common mistake. That's actually my belly button sticking out, not a p***s. Happens all the time"
