  • My must haves: black leggings, long shirts (Target!), dark wash maternity jeans, easy to grab snacks for my purse/car, reusable water bottle, pregnancy pillow, TB on my phone... I can't think of anything else. :)

  • I went overboard with #1 and know what I want and actually need this time around.
1.Burp cloths ( the first few months you go through them like crazy)
2.Onesies ( cute outfits last for a second so stock up on functional clothes)
3.Zipper footie sleepers. (The button ones are cute but not functional when you have a crabby baby that doesn't want to do anything other than nurse)
    4. A great diaper bag ( I bought a total of 10 in the last 2.5 years and swear by the Petunia Pockle bottom brand - functional and lots or room)
    5. 2 in 1 swing. (Total life saver. )

Totally agree on yoga pants! I live in my Lulus!

  • I miss read and gave baby must haves! Whoops! Sorry. Comfy clothes that help keep the GIANT pads hidden :)
  • Always Infinity pads for after you have the baby.  They are expensive, but oh so worth it.

  • Snacks because nausea is the devil
    Yoga pants
Maternity tanks -target has the best ones
    Preggie pops from motherhood mat
    Minty gum
    Zofran

Whole diff list for after baby is born
  • Comfortable underwear and bras. Yoga pants. Maternity tanks (target or old navy) because they go with everything. I even wore them to court my first time around with my pre-preg suit jacket.
  • Yoga pants, comfortable shoes, pregnancy pillow, long shirts, maternity tank tops

Something I only just learned with my last pregnancy was to get Depends (yup, the incontinence undies) for the first day or two of PP bleeding.  Either get a couple sample packs or split a bag with some pregnant friends.  No leakage and if you use padsicles in them for your sore bits the witch hazel or water wont leak onto your clothes.

Oh yes, and padsicles for PP.  They rock if your bits are sore after birth.  Best thing ever!

For after birth: Pre-frozen dinners. Or I have seen a recent trend of creating a time slot sign-up for friends and family to drop off meals, especially for c-section mamas and mamas with twins.

#3! I have heard amazing things about them from tons of mommy blogs!!
  • Zofran, crackers, a garbage bag in my car for throwing up.... Morning sickness was real for my and lasted 5.5 months with my DD!

Water bottles, nipple pads (because my boobs leaked at 7 months and I was completely catch off guard), pillows under the bump and between the knees once you only can sleep on side (can get pregnancy pillow but I always felt like that was huge for our queen sized bed.. Two pillows worked fine), and a camera to capture all these exciting new things happening to your body.

Sidenote: I enjoyed my Doppler I got... However do not get that if you freak out easily! Sometimes you will not find the heartbeat due to baby's positioning and/or placenta placement and that would just cause unnecessary stress!!
  • Loose fitting yoga pants and maxi skirts.
Grab extra mesh undies from the hospital. After my csection all of my undies hurt to wear for a while and all my pants would rub against the scar. The mesh undies go up above the scar and create a rub barrier. Don't worry about them being unsexy. You can't have sex for a little while after birth anyways, vaginal or csection.
Tight fitting cross front tops to wear as pajamas to hold the breast pads in place so you don't leak all over (if you are an overproducer and the breast pads don't cut it for overnight, fold a receiving blanket and shove it in your shirt.)
Gatorade and crackers. They work great for both morning sickness and for added middle of the night calories when nursing.
  • After baby for c-section moms ask for extra underwear to take home! I wore those suckers for almost my full 6 weeks! I even washed them in the washer.

I tried wearing my own numerous times and they hit directly on my scar and would make it bleed!
    Granny hospital panties ftw
  • Definitely nipple pads for leakage. Also pillows for later in the pregnancy. I actually used my Boppy (which I had received at my baby shower and later rarely BF without it) for my bump and a regular firm pillow in between my legs.
