Watermelon slushie

Hi ladies! I know it's hot now for most of us and I just figured I would share a drink I've been having to keep cool. If you have a blender, take 1/8-1/4 of watermelon (depends on how big yours is), cut it up into cubes, remove all seeds, and add cubes to blender with the juice of a lime. Blend until it makes a juice. Scoop foam off top, put it in a cup with a lid and freeze until only half is frozen and half is liquid. Take a knife (if cup opening is small) or spoon and mix frozen parts in with liquid and you'll have a slushie! It's really tasty, low calorie and all natural. You could also put the juice in Popsicle molds if you have them! Try it out :)

  • That sounds so good, I'll have to try it. I've just been crushing ice in my blender and adding a little bit of juice to make slushies.

It's sooo good! The lime adds just enough tang to it to balance the sweetness of the watermelon, and with an average sized watermelon, if I use 1/8 of it, it yields about 24 oz. I try to have one everyday, especially because it helps me reach my daily water intake goals and is equivalent to about 3 or 4 servings of fruit by itself!
  • You can also just freeze the watermelon in small chunks and blend it with some lemon or lime juice and water. So good for hot days.
  • Yum!! Now I need this!! We are dog sitting for my in-laws right now and I don't want to mess a ton of dishes or the kitchen so target slushies or McDonald's frozen lemonade will have to suffice for now!
