Constipation with formula

anyone else's little one get really constipated with formula? Had tried 1/2 formula 1/2 breastmilk bottle at night to get her to sleep longer and every time she gets so constipated & doesn't poop the next day. Suggestions other than going back to exclusively breast feeding?

    Is your baby just not pooping? Or seem like they're struggling but nothing is coming out? My baby only poops ever 2-4 days, but it's normal for a breastfed baby to go up to a week without pooping as long as they're having plenty of wet diapers..

    Struggling with nothing coming out & much more fussy. Plenty of wet diapers just no dirty. When she gets just breastmilk she has at least 2 dirty per day.

    Our son had troubles pooping with ready to serve enfamil a+. And when he finally would poop it was very watery.

    My LO had the same problem with Enfamil Gentlease. I would try a different formula. We now use Similac Sensitive

    My son was very constipated on similac sensitive si pedi said to give 1oz prune and 1oz apple juice mixed together and it helped

    My daughter would have about 5+ bowel movements and 10+ wet diapers a day on regular enfamil but once we switched her to Earth's Best organic, it's just 1 a day and it's an explosion of watery stool. I called the pediatrician and the nurse said that's just how she digests the formula but didn't say to switch. We are going to try to mix half enfamil and half earths best and see if that helps. She doesn't seem constipated but the 1 explosive poo a day seems concerning. Granted she pooped TOO much with enfamil...but at least it wasn't this side-seeping explosion!

    Every baby is different, but I breastfed and supplemented with Similac advanced until I switched over to just formula. Once that happened, my baby had very watery poops. After doing some research, I switched over to Gerber Good Start Gentle, and he was like a totally different baby- Normal poops, not nearly as fussy! The proteins are broken down for easier digestion. You may want to look into a more "gentle" formula.

    My daughter was having problems once we switched to formula. Our pediatrician recommended Baby's Jarro-Dophilus probiotics and it made a huge difference. It's a powder and you mix a tiny bit in with the formula. It helped a ton.
