NB Diaper Question

Do the newborn size of Pampers Swaddlers have the cut out for the umbilical cord?  I am looking on Amazon and can't tell.  I didn't start using the Swaddlers until my first was in size 1s, and I can't remember what I started off with last time that had the cut out.

    Uhhhh, no they don't.

I used pampers swaddlers once DS was out of hospital. I just simply folded the front down a bit as not to irritate the umbilical cord.

  • I know the baby dry pampers don't either.
  • Huggies does. I'm not a fan of huggies though, so like PP I just folded down the pampers.

  • Open the box, grab a pair of scissors, snip away. Problem solved!

Well that was mean. They do have s place for the cord. As usual people want to argue.

Sounds like you are the one that wants to argue. Obviously if she likes pampers and gets them and they don't have the cut outs, she can cut them herself. She wasn't being "mean" at all.
  • Yes, the newborn size swaddlers do dip down a bit to accommodate the umbilical cord.
  • Here's a pic I found of the Pamper's Swaddlers dip. It's not as pronounced as the Huggies Snugglers, but I had no issue with swaddlers and umbilical cord irritation or the need to fold them down more with DD. image

This must be the "new and improved" version. My NB swaddlers did not look like this at all.

    How was this mean?

Enjoy your snipping!  I will buy some that already have it done for me.

  • I don't understand why you need special diapers for the umbilical cord. Maybe I am missing a new trend but you can just roll down the diaper as others said. Seems like it might be extra work or energy to find a special type of diaper that is not necessary.
  • Why can't we just answer the original question to the post instead arguing about it? Geez its 4am (and can't sleep) and I can't find a post on the TB where ladies aren't cutting each other down.

Sorry you can't sleep, I can't either. Nobody was arguing or cutting each other down. We had a troll that was intentionally starting drama on several posts and has now been banned.
  • I think the PP meant clip the diaper (not the cord) or at least I hope. They told us in the class to use the diapers we like and fold if needed. Some cords fall off quicker than others so this may end up being a non issue.
