So, I've recently been putting together a playlist of songs that make me feel strong, happy, uplifted, etc. I play it in the car a lot. So, I was wondering, what song sums up your TTC journey so far?
*** Child & current pregnancy mentioned ***
Me - 41 (PCOS), Hubby - 43 (healthy)
7/2013 - Sweet baby girl born (Clomid + TI)
3/2014 - TTC #2, return to RE 7/2014
12/2015: IVF #1 transferred two great looking embryos - BFP!
First ultrasound: TWO beautiful little heartbeats!!
Harmony: negative; level 2: babies look great and are boy/girl!
I've always liked "Best Day of My Life" by American Authors, but the past few weeks, I'm obsessed with "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten. I play it in my car and yell along (notice I didn't say sing, since I can't sing!). If you guys don't know this song, I just love the lyrics. It sums up where I'm at with this whole stupid infertility journey.
"Fight Song"
Like a small boat On the ocean Sending big waves Into motion Like how a single word Can make a heart open I might only have one match But I can make an explosion
And all those things I didn't say Wrecking balls inside my brain I will scream them loud tonight Can you hear my voice this time
This is my fight song Take back my life song Prove I'm alright song My power's turned on Starting right now I'll be strong I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes 'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me
Losing friends and I'm chasing sleep Everybody's worried about me In too deep Say I'm in too deep (in too deep) And it's been two years I miss my home But there's a fire burning in my bones And I still believe Yeah I still believe
And all those things I didn't say Wrecking balls inside my brain I will scream them loud tonight Can you hear my voice this time
This is my fight song Take back my life song Prove I'm alright song My power's turned on Starting right now I'll be strong I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes 'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me
A lot of fight left in me
Like a small boat On the ocean Sending big waves Into motion Like how a single word Can make a heart open I might only have one match But I can make an explosion
This is my fight song (Hey!) Take back my life song (Hey!) Prove I'm alright song (Hey!) My power's turned on Starting right now I'll be strong (I'll be strong) I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes 'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me
Now I've still got a lot of fight left in me

Great post! I'm gonna have a listen to those songs @emsmama15.
For some reason when I read the lyrics I immediately thought of Janis Ian's "From Me To You"...but I don't know why or how it applies completely, except that I'm feeling emotional about each of our individual paths.
It's really just humbling and sober to read about all of you on this board, and I'm completely grateful for the support.
I feel genuinely bonded and rooting for each of us to have our dream come true.
xo
I'd post a link, but I can't figure it out....I'll try
emsmama15 I LOVE this song!! Yesterday on the way home I was blasting it and singing along as loud as I can! I also love The Sun is Rising by Britt Nicole Gold and Cannonball by Lea Michelle
One of my favorite TTC/IF songs is Michael Buble's "I just haven't met you yet"... I imagine that I'm singing it to my future child. I'll come back and post a video if I find it...
I'm not surprised
Not everything lasts
I've broken my heart so many times,
I stopped keepin' track.
Talk myself in
I talk myself out
I get all worked up
Then I let myself down.
I tried so very hard not to lose it
I came up with a million excuses
I thought, I thought of every possibility
And I know someday that it'll all turn out
You'll make me work so we can work to work it out
And I promise you kid, that I'll give so much more than I get
I just haven't met you yet
Mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm
I might have to wait
I'll never give up
I guess it's half timing
And the other half's luck
Wherever you are
Whenever it's right
You come out of nowhere and into my life
And I know that we can be so amazing
And baby your love is gonna change me
And now I can see every possibility
Mmm
But somehow I know that will all turn out
And you'll make me work so we can work to work it out
And I promise you kid, I'll give so much more than I get
I just haven't met you yet
They say all's fair
In love and war
But I won't need to fight it
We'll get it right
And we'll be united
And I know that we can be so amazing
And being in your life is gonna change me
And now I can see every single possibility
Mmm
And someday I know it'll all turn out
And I'll work, to work it out
Promise you kid, I'll give more than I get
Than I get, than I get, than I get
Oh you know it will all turn out
And you'll make me work, so we can work, to work it out
And I promise you kid, to give so much more than I get
Yeah I just haven't met you yet
I just haven't met you yet
Oh promise you kid
To give so much more than I get
I said love, love, love, love, love, love, love
I just haven't met you yet
Love, love, love, love, love, love
I just haven't met you yet
@GoldenKeys - that one's on my playlist too. I especially love this part -- "I guess it's half timing, And the other half's luck." How true is that of TTC? I've asked my RE NP if she thought we'd gotten lucky or we were just younger when we got pregnant the first time. She said she thought a big portion was luck...

@GoldenKeys , that's so sweet. I like that idea of it being for your future child. Lots of luck to you.
Not sure how I didn't see this post before now! So fun! I don't have a song, per se, re TTC but I did hear one of my favorite upbeat songs the other day. Up Up Up by Givers. It's just fun and peppy and cheers me up, if only temporarily. It's good for those mood swingy type days.
Re: GTKY: Songs for TTC
On the ocean
