Morning sickness LIFE SAVER!

i know this is going to sound silly, but it has rocked my world, ladies. Sea-Bands. You can get them at Walgreens. It sounds silly, wearing bands on your wrist and it's " suppose " to cure morning sickness, but omg I'm over THE MOON from it. They work by applying pressure to a pressure point on your wrists to control feeling sick. It's amazing and if any of you are feeling awful like I was hopefully this will help.! Ps they also have ginger gum in the same brand. Good luck!

  • I wish they would have worked for me that well! They didn't put a dent in my nausea.

  • Sea bands make my nausea/MS worse - just a heads up that they don't work as intended for everyone.

Me too. And my RN friends noticed them immediately and knew that I was pregnant before I wanted.

  • Awe bummer. I'm sorry ladies!
  • Yeah, didnt work for me either.

  • Peppermint oil and real ginger has been helping my nausea/MS subside. Not completely but helping to be able to keep fluids and small things down. I tried ginger candy but that made it worse.
  • I was hopeful of these too but I feel like they only work sometimes :( I wore them to church the other day because they seemed to be working and I'm surprised no one asked me about them! They aren't super cute either ha.

  • I actually have been told that those bracelets are a placebo. They are what you want them to be. Pressure points have done nothing for this sick mama. The only thing that has remotely helped has been constantly eating small small portions throughout the day before I get hungry. It's hard to do but the only thing that works for me. I've tried the ginger mouth drops and those were so nasty and they made me want to throw up more! Lol can't wait for the second trimester
  • I'm afraid they haven't helped me either. I tend to have one episode of actual sickness in the morning and then I'm nauseous on and off throughout the rest of the day. I can't ignore when I'm hungry or the nausea gets much worse. I really wanted Seabands to help, but no such luck. I'm glad they seem to work for some though!

  • I find that taking my b vitamins at night time before I go to bed has helped me curve the sickness a lot. It's still there but I'm no longer vomiting and it's barable. Hope everyone is able to find something that works for them. Good luck

    Somethings that are helping me:
    -being in a pool
    -unisom+B6
    -mint in grapefruit izzy
    -sleep!
    -yoga (sometimes)

That's all my goods right now :)

    I second the Unisom.
Also, I've been sleeping with a small ice pack on my pillow. When I start to even get a little hot, the nausea gets worse.
Lemonade also helps me during the day. But def unisom before bed.
  • I just bought my Sea Bands at Walgreens today after reading about clinical trials showing they help with pregnancy sickness... I have noticed zero differences with them though, which is a major bummer. But they do work for some people, so maybe not all hope is lost. For me, it's back to square one...
  • Yeah, those never helped me, which is a bummer. Mint candy and eating a little snack every hour has been helpful, though. And the sour preggie drop pop candies! I was surprised that they helped me last time.

I ordered some anti nausea ginger gum on amazon today. I'm hoping they'll help! I have a Hawaiian vacation in a week and I don't want to be in clutching my gut in paradise!
  • Eating a rice cake before getting out of bed and then having a stash of hard candy (jolly ranchers, peppermints) has literally changed my pregnant life.
  • Thanks for sharing! I've heard mixed reviews too. My midwife recommended trying them but I'm also worried people would know I was pregnant if I was wearing them.

  • I ordered some preggie pops but I'm highly skeptical. I just don't get how they could help. They'll be here tomorrow though so I guess I will find out!

  • Lurking..

I'm 14 weeks and still wearing sea bands! I've found that they have to be placed just right to work. Also, make sure you wash them once a week because they stretch out and lose effect. Sea-Band also manufactures ginger gum also found at Walgreen's. Definitely a life saver for me. Hang in there ladies, it gets better. :)

I just bought some preggie pop candies and they work while you are eating them but it's only a temporary thing for me. I have to be eating them all day long for them to really help. And they aren't that cheap ha!

  • My Dr. recommended Sea Bands as well, I haven't tried them yet, but sounds like they work for a lot of people! :)
