Queation for those expecting twins?

When you have your monthly check up...do they use the doppler or do a quick ultrasound ..or neither? Going in for my 4th appt since getting pregnant and they have used the ultrasound each time. Wondering if they will do that again tomorrow?

I had twins last year- I had appts every two weeks from 12 weeks on and we always did an ultrasound for heart checks. My doctor just said it was easier- that way we knew we caught both heart rates.

I'm expecting twins as well, so far my peri has done ultrasounds at every appointment and I see my family doctor for prenatal appointments and he uses the dopper. I'm either seeing or hearing heart beats every week and a half. ❤️

It all depends on your doctor and how the babies are doing. We had an u/s at 12w and will only do doppler at 16w with another u/s at 20 weeks.
Our doctor gave us a huge breakdown of how often to expect our appts and what each will be. Perhaps ask what their policy is and write down what and when you'll get each time.

So far I've had a quick u/s at each visit, but I've only been twice since it was confirmed. My ob told me we would see her about every 4 weeks initially and the MFM in between those visits. It makes sense that they would do an u/s since there are 2 babies that need to be monitored.

I'm expecting twins and my doctor had me in for US every other week from week 5 to week 11. Now she has me coming back for one visit a month to do an US. She never used a doppler on me but I'm guessing it is to see and make sure that both babies heart beats are going strong.

So far I have had ultrasounds. But I have my first appt with the high risk pregnancy specialist next Wed. I'm excited and nervous hopefully I will see what the gender is?! I will be 17 weeks.

Have you ladies found out what you are having get??? Fraternal or identical? Boy girl? Girl girl? Boy boy?

I am expecting Twins and I see my doctor (never a NP always my Dr) every 4 weeks and I always get an ultrasound. He says he'd rather see the heartbeat then listen for it. Then in my last trimester I will see him ever 2 weeks!

Same here..doc said the ultra sound is more reliable for twins. He said it can be hard to know for sure that you've found two different heart beats. I'll go again Monday so we shall see!

Expecting twins and doc said the will do an ultrasound at each visit. I'm all for seeing how much they change each visit.

I just found out at 15w3d that I am having twins, the only reason I got an ultrasound was because my doctor said I was showing way early for it to be my first pregnancy...so we finally confirmed twins and they are both GIRLS! My doctor wants an ultrasound done every month and then by the end of the second trimester I will get them every 2 weeks!

Thanks everyone. ..saw the doc on friday...i too will have ultrasounds every 4 weeks. Its easier to look at the heartbeat then use the soppler i guess...should find out the genders tomorrow!
