Contractions

I'm not sure, but I think I'm witnessing my first bit of contractions. I kind of feel like someone punched me in the stomach and knocked the wind out of me! They are few and far between but now I know what you STMs were talking about! I'm definitely scared for real contractions and labor pains! Definitely going to be a medicated birth for me! Haha. I know there have been other posts regarding this, but the search function is not working on my phone right now! How close together should they be before you consider going to the hospital, for future reference?

    My doctors have told me if I have more than 6 in a hour before 36 weeks to go in. Past 36 weeks, wait till they're 5 min apart. You can always ask your doctor though as they may say something different

    I had one bad one the other day and that was it. I told my midwife and she said in my case that sometimes the baby stretches so much that the uterus contracts to keep baby within limits. The above advice about the timing and frequency sounds right.

    My doctor told me if its 4-5 in an hour then go in to L&D .
    But as too how long apart I'm not sure I've heard multiple things I've heard 3 min apart too 5 .

    Same here - more than 6 an hour sent me to L & D and home with a Procardia prescription. Mine weren't that painful, but I called my doc after an hour of laying down and water didn't work. So she said to come in. They should tell you when they want you to come in based on your situation. I think my office has it listed in some paperwork somewhere. Good luck!!

    I had them this morning. I've never been in more pain in my life. It was very inconsistent and they stooped after an hour so I didn't freak out to much. It just really hurt.

    Same @kelseyrayay ! It was really random and spread out but it literally felt like baby was trying to jump out of me haha.

    Unfortunately I've been having them for a month already. About 15-20 per day, but nothing consistent so I just have to deal. Mine are pretty painful, have to breathe slowly through them... And I still have 7 weeks ugh. I think this pregnancy is making up for the fact that I felt nothing the first time around

    This. Also, @kedbach active labor contractions are far more intense. You will see the difference once your hit AL.

    Try not to let it scare you. You will make it through labor, I promise! Don't lay down, it makes them much worse. It helps me to stand and rock side to side or sit in a rocking chair, baby's glider is a perfect spot, or sit on an exercise ball. Your body is doing a great job!

    I'm smart enough to know the quote button is there for a reason. You can't take being under heat yet you treat others horribly. Maybe try changing and people won't see you as a board follower who has no personality of her own.

    I WAS JUST THINKING THIS!! Haha. Going through other boards like "this is all a bit mundane after the last couple of days.. Where's the crazy? Where's the OH NO SHE DIDN'T!?" I'm on a drama high and now it's over. Sad.
    I have high hopes for another loony to cause a stir before the end of August. Fingers crossed!
