Chicken Pox!

I received a call this afternoon from a friend informing me her little boy has chicken pox. We had a play date on Monday, and she didn't notice anything off since he had his vaccinations this week also.
After speaking to my mother I have decided to cancel play dates for the next fortnight, apparently the incubation period is 14-16 days. So I won't know for almost a fortnight if my little man has caught it. I couldn't bare to pass it on to any of my other friends children, especially since I know it could be a possibility. Even if only slight.

My partner thinks I'm over reacting. I'm not, am I? What would you do, Internet world?

Re: Chicken Pox!

  • I'd probably do the same thing. I know they aren't as bad as other diseases but for LOs you never know. I think it's also good to inform others you've been in contact with since finding out so they have a heads up.
  • Loading the player...
  • I'd also call your doctor and see if she has any advice, etc.
  • hold off as well.  an infant with chicken pox won't be fun and if it were me, I'd be ticked if my kid was exposed without my knowledge and the parent knew.
