Babyshower ideas

this is baby number 2 for me and 3 for DH. We have a girl together and he has a son from a previous relationship. I decided that this time I wanted to wait till the delivery room to find out baby's gender but DH already knows the gender.

He is insisting on throwing me a shower with the help of my little sister. The theme has to be gender neutral and we have debated what to go with.

I wanted 'Cute as a Button' theme because it can be done any colors. He wanted to do some punk rock theme complete with skulls, spikes, fire, and lots of black. I like skulls to an extent but feel it has no place being center stage at a baby shower.

We finally agreed on doing a Superhero(ine) theme and use a variety of male and female superheroes. Now the fun begins to actually figure everything else out because so far, neither of them have thought past an invitation on Pinterest.

That all being said, just curious if you ladies have any 'must do' baby shower games or suggestions? I'm also curious about the themes of everyone's baby shower!

    The search function is a great feature that will help you find similar discussions.
    There was a very similar discussion posted yesterday.
    Fyi it is frowned upon for people directly benefiting from the shower to throw their own gift giving event.
    Andplusalso a baby shower is a gift welcoming a woman to motherhood and should only be for first time moms unless a very short list of exceptions.

    It's not uncommon for people in my area to have showers for every new baby. And the reason my DH and sister are planning it, with my help, is bc the person who was supposed to throw the one for my DD backed out 2 weeks before the day.

    You're going to get all sorts of etiquette police on this... However, I feel that people can do whatever they want now and it shouldn't matter to anyone else :)

    If you happen to look up kid birthday parties that are superhero themed you can find some cute decoration ideas on pinterest. I threw one for my niece a few years ago and found lots on there.

    For my shower, that my sister is hosting and I am making all rhe decorations for, we are doing a fairytale theme :) I am so excited for it and have found some awesome ideas on pinterest.

    I love the Super hero theme! When my SIL was pregnant with my neice, my brother was vocal that he wanted lots of punk stuff too. SIL was so excited it was going to be a girl, and wasn't having any of it, so they went with lots of pink, frilly, girly stuff. But a few people gave them some very cute pink outfits with skulls that my bro loved. Compromise!

    I am also team green. I am having 2 showers (one for family, one for friends). The one my family is doing will have a hot air balloon theme and the one my friends are throwing is a tribal theme with arrows and dreamcatchers. I'm excited for both as we are trying to incorporate both into the nursery!
