Did anyone already get their cervix checked?

I'm a STM so I knew exactly what she was doing.
She lubed up and checked away. I'm only 11 weeks and 4 days, so I thought it was odd she was checking my cervix so soon. I'm definitely not dialated, But it could have been part of the pap.
Except I don't remember ever getting checked until the end with my DS.


Was anyone else already checked?

    They checked at my first appointment at like 7 weeks. I think they just want to make sure everything is good. If she had found something concerning - I believe she would have mentioned it?

    I just don't remember getting checked so early with my son. Then again that was almost four years ago, so I could be remembering wrong.

    They checked mine at my first apointment (8 weeks). I didn't remember it either from with ds, but that too was over 3 years ago lol

    Checked mine at first apt at 7 weeks and then at both ultrasounds so far (7weeks and 11 weeks) she told me she would check again at 20 week ultrasound.

    Mine was checked at my 8 week appt. I know mine isn't fully closed but she said it looked normal for already having had a vaginal birth.

    The only time I have been checked for both previous pregnancies were the very first appointment (pap and transvaginal us) and starting at 38 weeks. I just had my second appointment, 11w 6d, and they only checked urine, blood pressure, looked for baby heartbeat and asked how I felt. There was no exam.

    Yes. Mine was checked at 8 week appt

    Generally it's part of the pap. Since they have to put their hands in you to check your ovaries they check that too. The doc wouldn't go out of their way to do it because most people are going to be closed, and even if you weren't they wouldn't necessarily do anything for it.

    I think they should always check, my friend lost her baby at 20 weeks because they didn't check her, she had a weak cervix, and when they went to stitch it they ruptured her sac. The sooner they know the easier it is.

    They're actually feeling your uterus from both inside and out for size. They usually insert two fingers vaginally while palpating the uterus from outside as well. Atleast that's what my doc did.
