I can't figure out how to attach a file on mobile, but yesterday, my mom's 14 year old west highland terrier was put to sleep because his heart was giving out and he was unable to walk or get excited without fainting. He was an old dog with a young heart, and loved all his boys (my mom's brood of seven grandsons), and he was our family's solacein a time of grieving (we got him when my older brother passed away) and my mom is having a pretty rough time with the loss. RIP to my baby fur brother, Buster.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I hope your family can find some comfort in this hard time.
@itsshayday I'm so so sorry to hear such sad news. I lost one of my parents' dogs that I grew up this past April and I know how painful it is to say good bye to our furry family members. I'm thinking of you and saying a prayer for your family and for buster. I hope you guys find peace in knowing he had a good life with you all.
Don't have a pic since im on mobile but today I took lo and my fur baby to the doggie park! It was pretty warm so we didn't stay too long but it was nice to get out with my fur kid and do what we love together.
Thank you @Westypet and @Mommaswizz , I think I'm more upset for my mom than for Buster, she lost her mother 2 winters ago, and at Christmas, her step father, who was her only father figure, and now the dog... We knew his time was nearing (as with my grandparents, as well) but she's just suffered an incredible amount of loss in her life, and it's compounding. I selfishly want this baby to come as soon as possible, for one, to end my discomfort and to have my baby, and on top of that, to remind my mom that not every life event is a loss, that we get births and weddings and joyous times, too.

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Pets are absolutely family members and the loss of one can be so difficult. I hope that your family can celebrate your upcoming arrival, not as a distraction, but as a reminder that good things happen. That wonderful pup was so fortunate to have a loving family for fourteen years when so, so many animals are not as lucky. I can't remember the exact quote, but it's something along the lines of: How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so difficult...
Our animals (dog & cat) have responded great. The cat (Elvis) has sniffed LO a few times but other than that ignores him. The dog (Bandit) seems to watch over him. He freaks when also cries, and wants to lick him. So far, we've kept licks to a minimum, but he's snuck a few on his legs and head...and he got him in the face yesterday (oops). We joke that DS's first words will be, "No Bandit." Although when Colin gets moving, we'll probably be saying, "no Colin" way more. Lol. I wish I had a pic to share but I don't.
So our chocolate monster couldn't miss out on all the action. Newborn, sick DS, DH, and now I've caught the stupid freaking cold. Well Toby decided to get a piece of cheat grass (fox tail) stuck in his eye tonight and dh had to take him to the emergency vet. One cone head later...we've added a new act to the circus.
So sorry for your family's loss @itsshayday. It's never easy loosing a fur baby, especially one with so much meaning attached to him. May he RIP.
