My poor hair

my hair is so dry and lifeless. I am taking my prenatals and drinking tons of water! Hoping my baby is born with luscious locks lol!!

My hair is falling out, and has been since about week 6. I don't know if there will be any left by the time I get to my due date!

  • My hair was falling out tremendously I was so worried! Now it has slowed down on the falling out (thank you hair fairy) but it's lifeless and dull. I normally have very thick full hair. Now it's blah!
  • I was actually just talking to my mom about this! She said she had phases throughout pregnancies where her hair would fall out...then it would grow...then it would fall out again ...and then it would grow back. Gotta love pregnancy and it's weird side effects!!!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Ugh mine is the same way!! It's so dry and dull and just blah. When does the gorgeous pregnancy hair that women rave about start?! Lol
  • My hair sucked during the first trimester. I mixed a little baking soda with my shampoo to degrease my hair.....you have to rinse really really good!!!! I did go and get my hair done last weekend and that made me feel a lot better about my hair. Since then it hasn't been too bad. I have been trying to fix my hair everyday but I haven't gotten all my energy back yet.
  • Last pregnancy my hair got down to half to thickness. It was horrible! This time, it's staying in my head, but breaking. I've started doing coconut oil once a week, hoping for results soon. So far, it's still crackly
  • I Do coconut oil once a week as well, feels awesome for the first day and then back to dry and breaking. I'm 17 weeks by the way.. With my son, I had the best pregnant hair ever. Crazy how different two pregnancies can be!

Hold up! You guys are putting coconut oil in your hair? I use it on my skin. What do you do with it? I feel like it would really grease up my hair
  • I put it on my hair and let it sit for 10-30 minutes and then shampoo and condition. I don't rub it into my roots, otherwise it plasters to my head and I look like a greaseball. I just put a shower cap over my head while I piddle around the house.
  • I just slather it all in my hair until it's nice and saturated and put a shower cap on for about 2 hours, then wash it out really well. I use it on my skin as well!
  • My stylist told me about mayonnaise on hair. Get a shower cap, slather your locks with mayo, sit about 30 min, then shower and scrub your hair. I've tried it and helped with frying of the hair due to over processing!! I must admit I didn't like the smell but the end result was amazing!! Super soft and silky. The eggs and fat in the mayo work wonders on hair.
  • I feel ya! First my hair was super dry, now its oily ughhhh. The one thing I can't complain about though is that my hair has grown sooooo much it's already past my boobs, love it! But it's a pain in the ass to deal with and let's not get started on how tangled it gets lol
  • My hair has gone from wavy beautiful curls to kinky frizz and I look like Annie.

Curly hair tends to fall out more anyways and I have insanely thick hair.

    WHAT. IS. GOING. ON.
  • Oh wow I thought it was just me??? My hair is dry and falling out too. What happened to the saying about when you are pregnant your hair and nails grow and the beautiful skin glow :/. I can say my nails are growing not so much the hair though :(
  • I've never heard that about the curly hair thing. I have pretty wavy unmanageable hair naturally. And mayo in your hair?! More power to those who can stomach the smell!! I can't stand it even when not pregnant. My hair has definitely gotten a little longer but it is thinning too. By the time the post partum hair shedding comes I'm going to look like gollum :(

My hair is pretty similar to yours.  I would always put in a good combo of frizz ease extra strength and morroccan oil after every wash to control frizz, and it would make nice waves. But now, it's either too oily or too frizzy.   Plus, I've always been one to shed, but it seems to be way worse. Lately if I don't have to go anywhere I just pile it on top of my head in a bun.  I will say that my skin is finally starting to clear up and my nails are really hard.
